  • Dance to the Beat of our Drum Kit!

    Funded Feb 18, 2022

My sincere apologies for the delayed response! The students at our campus were so excited to have access to a quality drum kit. They have used this for multiple performances including talent shows, Black History celebrations, Hispanic Heritage celebrations, impromptu lunch performances, etc. The music club has access to these items during their meeting time each Friday. It is an amazing piece of equipment to have that multiple campus organizations can take advantage of. Thank you so much for spreading the love of music.”

  • Classroom Library Upgrade

    Funded Dec 17, 2021

The books have arrived and have been added to our growing classroom library by my amazing self-appointed librarian! The students were excited to see new titles that were inclusive and diverse. Many of my students have already been checked out some of the new titles, and I am so excited to see these kiddos actively reading by choice! Thank you so much for providing my students access to award winning fiction books written by diverse authors. It is an honor to be able to present these gifts to my students. We are forever grateful!”

  • Manga for You! Manga for Me!

    Funded Oct 21, 2021

Thanks to you and your generosity, our little Manga library has over 120 books! Our self-appointed classroom library manager has completed an inventory, posted a QR code checkout link, and has officially opened the collection for check-out. I have students across the campus stopping by and borrowing books for their personal and class assignments. It is so fun to see them excited about reading. We are curating a new wish list for our next project and cannot wait to add to the library that you helped us create. These books are loved and we thank you for your help.”

  • You Get a Prize! And You Get a Prize!

    Funded Oct 11, 2021

Our students are preparing for their online international relations simulation. The prizes are on display and the students are already setting their sights on the prize of their choice...if their team wins! The competition will heat up in the next few weeks as we move through the simulation. I cannot wait to see how the simulation unfolds and how the students create their own country and build alliances with others.

I am excited to share the pictures of the winners with you after our simulation is complete. The excitement around this curriculum would not have been possible without your generosity! We are so excited. Thank you for supporting our students.”

  • Extra! Extra! Manga for All!

    Funded Oct 4, 2021

THIS PROJECT WAS SO FUN! The kids were so excited to set up the bookshelf system and organize the books. They even created a system to borrow books! We have started a new list of books to add to this little manga library and I hope to post another student inspired project as soon as possible. I wish you could see their eyes light up in person when we have a project funded by you! I look forward to submitting another project and watching as the kids browse the library and bring in students from all over campus to see what they have created.

Thank you so much for your generous donations.”

  • Planning for Success

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Thank you so much for the planners. My AVID/homeroom students were so excited to get them at the beginning of the year. The planners set the tone for a successful year during unpredictable times. I am sure the expectation for organization is helpful, but I think that letting the kids know that someone cares is the most important piece of this particular project. They couldn't believe that strangers donated to the project to make sure they had a successful school year.

Thank you so much for your continued support!”

  • Have Tech Will Travel

    Funded May 28, 2021

This amazing technology package arrived just days before one of our students boarded her first international flight to Spain. It was so fun to provide her an updated iPad and AirPods so that she could travel light but still have the ability to stay in touch with her family and friends in Houston.

I hope that this technology is able to travel the globe with future study abroad students and provide them with a reliable resource for both work and play. It was a pleasure to be able to share this with our first study abroad student of the summer.

Thank you so much for ensuring our students have everything they need to be successful both at home and abroad.”

  • Anime Is Life

    Funded May 4, 2021

This student-inspired/created project for all things anime was a major hit! I was desperately searching for items to help motivate my students through the final month of pandemic teaching and learning. All I had to do was ask the kids for their opinion!

I was able to incentivize our online government simulation and groups that dominated the game were able to enter a drawing for a sought-after anime prize. The competition was tough, but I was able to ensure every single student was able to grab a prize. The anime stickers were truly the biggest hit! Thank you for making our final days of the 2020-2021 school year feel special.”

  • Jumbo Games Build Unity

    Funded Apr 20, 2021

These games brought our students a sense of normalcy at the end of a very tough year of pandemic teaching and learning. The students could not wait to open each box and put the games together. They spent the break and lunchtime making sure that all of the games were ready to use.

We have been able to use them during lunch, senior night, rising freshman camp and to break the ice as an SEL activity. I look forward to integrating these games into many more outside gatherings during the next school year.

Thank you for making our project a reality!”

  • Equitable Learning for All

    Funded Dec 11, 2020

Thank you so much for our TV and conference speaker! When we aren't using our giant screen to Chromecast our work and interact with our virtual peers, we play calming music or watch one of the many aquarium channels. Having an extra-large TV/monitor has made all the difference for teaching in-person and virtual students at the same time. Having the technology to make this stressful situation easier is such a relief. I hope that you all know how much this means to an educator that is having to relearn the art of teaching. Thank you so much for your generosity.”
