Students will practice working in multiple sculptural media while building upon their knowledge of the human form. We have done self-portraits — but, students have been craving more hands-on work that is not drawing based. I have requested wire cutting supplies and twistable, colored wires so students can create human 3D bendable forms. Students will be able to speak about the exaggeration of poses, as seen in the work of Alberto Giacometti and others, for emotive effect and the expression of movement. Students will reflect upon and assess the characteristics and merits of their work and the work of others artists. Finally, they will understand and apply new media, techniques, and processes.
