  • Let There Be Light!

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting our class. Each of the items that have been donated have contributed drastically to our classroom.

The lights have created a calm and soothing environment in our beautiful classroom.

When students become overstimulated, they are calmed by the lights. The lights scattered throughout the class room add a calmer environment for students to learn, and they help to create a warm and soothing environment to help with self regulation.

We are so thankful for all of the additions to our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Eaton

  • More Books

    Funded May 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to our project "Books, Books, Books!" These texts will help to enrich our classroom library and add more diversity with our classroom read aloud books. DonorsChoose donors like YOU have made an outstanding impact on our learning environment this year! Our library revamps have given students access to authors and topics they truly love on reading levels that are accessible. Who would have thought an anonymous friend from the internet would care so deeply about a group of fourth graders?!

Our students love to read and expand their reading skills through high interest texts, and these will no doubt aid in their learning.

Thank you again, from all of us.”

    Mr. Eaton

  • Carpet for Whole Group Learning

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you for your generous gift to my classroom. My students and I absolutely love and adore our new classroom carpet. It has added lots of warm and comfort to our classroom especially during our read alouds and lessons at the front of the room. We love that each student has a spot of their own and they can sit in comfort and ease while listening to their favorite story, work with partners, or solving our daily math and ELA problems during whole group lessons.

We are truly grateful and appreciative of your contributions to our classroom.”

  • White Boards for Learning!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students love using the whiteboards, markers, and erasers.

In the classroom, the students are able to use the boards and markers to share their work with me during whole group lessons to check for understanding. They are able to use thinking time to put their thinking onto the white boards, then share with they partners, or the entire class. They are also able to use it for phonics because of its ability to be magnetic.

Your donation has brought smiles to my students' faces. These whiteboards, markers, and erasers have really enhanced our lessons.

Thank you again for being so kind and generous to our class.”

  • Pencils and Erasers!

    Funded Dec 17, 2021

Thank you sincerely for your support of our classroom. The pencils will serve as a fabulous extrinsic reward to get students to make good choices regarding behavior and homework. And they will be housed in our brightly colored pencil holders at each table. As we work on promoting the intrinsic value of working hard in the classroom, extra incentives can really make a difference.

Our students (and their teachers) are amazed at the generosity of a group of people they do not know personally. Seeing your commitment to their education makes them want to work harder to help themselves. You are helping them reach their goals while teaching them the value of sharing and generosity. What a wonderful life lesson!

Thank you again for the selfless support of our classroom. We will continue to use the materials you've provided to help us reach our academic goals. You have really made a difference in the lives of a group of great students!”

  • Organizing to Optimize Independence and Learning

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

Thank you for your generosity. Your donations have helped create an organized and accessible library for my students. Students are able to keep library books safe in the sturdy plastic sleeves as they travel between home and school. Additionally, students are able to get retrieve reading, writing, and math materials from the file organizers with agency.

When students saw the revamped library at the start of the school year, with new bins and labels, they were very eager to get their hands on books as if it wasn't the bins weren't what was new but the books.

Without your kindness and donations, this project could not be possible.

Many thanks from me and my students,”

  • Color My World!

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

Thank you so much for the color printer ink! We will be putting the cartridges to use for our American Revolution Magazine project, using the Lucidpress app. This project uses information about the American Revolution in the form of 5 different informational text types: description, cause & effect, problem & solution, sequence, and compare & contrast.

My students are going to love to see their work in color. They are eager to see the final "published" version of their magazines. This would not be possible without your generous contributions. We are all truly grateful to you.

For the remainder of the school year, we plan to continue to print student work created on Chromebooks. The color ink you have provided really brings the student work to life! Thank you!"”

My class is an upper grade Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom. Students with disabilities who receive Integrated Co-Teaching services are educated with age appropriate peers in the general education classroom. My students are diverse, bright, and brimming with potential. They are excited about learning, but many of them have fallen far behind and learning does not always come easy for them. An increased need for repetition makes new content difficult to access. Kinesthetic and visual learning styles make traditional teaching methods less effective. A read aloud, sideshow, and worksheet are rarely engaging enough to make the content stick. All qualify for free or reduced price school lunches, a measure often used to indicate economic status. More than half of the students in the class are more than two full academic years behind in reading, writing, and math.
