  • Lettuce Do Our Best

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thanks to you, my classroom got a ton of little prizes to motivate them to learn and behave. Whenever a student reached their AR (accelerated reading) goal they got a scratch and sniff bookmarker. This quickly motivates other students to read and reach their goal as well. I also gave out other prizes like the fruit pencil with the cute toppers when they mastered a specific math multiplication fact. The large pop-its were given when students did really well in an intervention lesson or did something kind for someone else. I know as adults we do things because we have too, but students are just learning this so your donations help me motivate them to work and I greatly appreciate it.”

  • Animals Belong in School Too

    Funded Jan 22, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations. My students were so excited when we received the boxes that contained the animal habitats. We used the lizard enclosures to study them up closely since they have magnifying lenses on them as well as a build in ruler! The tweezers were a great tool when we studied the crawfish as they have pinchers and some students were scared to grab them with their hands. The ladybug homes were great and looked like their natural habitat, a tree!

This year is over so we are not planning anything new, but I do have an open project for painting rocks that I think would be fun for my students next year. Painting rocks is a way to encourage kindness and creativity towards others. Empathy is something all children need to work on and this is a cool way to teach it.”

  • Reading Guacs (Rocks)!

    Funded Aug 12, 2022

When this project was funded I could not believe it! It was slow moving at first, but thanks to generous people like you it happened! My students were ecstatic when we got furniture and supplies that matched our classroom theme-FOOD FRIENDS, especially avocados. They love sitting in the super comfortable chairs, they even nick named one "Eggie" I think these chairs have made a great impact in our classroom. They are eager to sit there, relax and read. I have so many students meeting their AR goals this year! The vinyl stickers that say NEVER STOP READING and the avocado lights are the little extra touches that make and brighten our reading corner.

Next project I would love to work on is getting money donated to buy resources from teachers pay teachers. My students are bright but they would benefit from some TEKS/STAAR practice to get them ready for the state assessments. I saw some great resources there.”

  • All Colors Matter in Writing

    Funded Sep 14, 2022

Thanks to your generous donations my class received a variety of writing materials like glitter pens, crayons, permanent markers and even stamps! The students were so excited when everything was delivered to my classroom. They worried when things broke like the lid of the glitter pens because they wanted everything to stay new and beautiful, but I let them know it was okay. The purpose of these materials was to get excited about writing authentic material and actually using the supplies.

So far, we have used the supplies to write two GET WELL cards for classmates who had accidents, a THANKSGIVING CRAFT of what we are thankful for, our LETTER to SANTA and our NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS plus many more day to day things. The students are more engaged when completing math problems as they get to use glitter pens or markers to circle important key words and numbers.

Next I would like to create a project to receive habitats for some of the critters we are going to study in science. The students love having these little animals in our class, and I just want to make sure they do not escape their enclosure. :D”

  • See Me Organize, Not My Test

    Funded Feb 13, 2020

Thank-you so much for donating money allowing me to purchase these much needed supplies to my classroom. They are greatly appreciated, especially right now with testing around the corner; we really need those privacy covers. Students will be so excited with all our new materials. God Bless you and your huge hearts!”

  • Multi-Sensory Math Madness

    Funded May 14, 2019

I received my materials at the end of last year which was great; very speedy delivery! The only bad part was that my school was closing so I had to pack all my classroom and move to a new school! That is why it took me a while to unpack and study these awesome math games you helped purchase.

Once all the games were finally out I decided to use them for remediation/tutorial since they are fun and target specific skills; the kids really enjoy them and are learning at the same time. My students who do not need the extra help also beg to play. So, now I just need to find the time to work with all of them!

My students are very grateful for these games and are becoming very responsible in counting the pieces and making sure nothing gets lost. In the future I hope to get more games to keep encouraging their love of learning. All students have been increasing their Math Benchmark scores and these math games is one of the reasons. Thank-you so much for caring to invest in our future.”

  • Unbreakable Technology

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

My students and I are very grateful for your contribution that allowed us to purchase an Amazon Free-Time Tablet. Although we haven't been able to use it as planned because of district policies and Internet issues; we have found ways to integrate it into our learning. My students read books that I previously downloaded for them. Then they can test on them to earn points. They also use it when working in centers. They take pictures of the work they are doing so I may check it later. This allows me to work with other students in small groups without being interrupted. The protective case allows them to move around the classroom with peace of mind that if they accidentally drop it it will not break. Once again thank-you so much for the new technology equipment addition in our classroom.”

  • Multiplication Frenzy Tools

    Funded Nov 8, 2018

My students and I are very grateful for your generosity. The money you donated allowed us to buy multiple tools to aid them in practicing their multiplication facts. Their favorite is the multiplication machine. They have so much fun using the push in multiplication table to check if they accurately answered a fact. They argue over who will use it every day. So, my next step will be to order more! This machine has changed learning their facts from a boring chore to a fun game. So, thank you so very much. The graph paper allows me to properly demonstrate all the different ways they can use it for their STAAR test. Last but not least the ipad covers allow them to use the ipads without any accidents. They get excited and want to walk around and show me what they are doing so it's nice to be protected! Words can never describe how much we appreciate all that the donors-choose web page and it's supporters have done for us.”

  • Storage for Knowledge

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

"Wow!" "What are those?" Those are some of the things my children said the day the custodians brought in the supplies you so generously contributed to my classroom.

Last year our classroom was a portable and we had 27 students in there so space was very limited. The storage bins have been a life savor! I have one in each group of 5 students. There children keep their novels, dry erase boards, markers and supplies they need on a daily basis. The sharpener has helped me keep my sanity. It is a great sharpener. It hardly makes any noise and is super quick and efficient at sharpening pencils. Once again thank you for your contributions. They have really helped my classroom run smoother this year!

I currently have a new project open. I am asking for donations to order a signing program. I would love to start a sign language club in my school. Please look into it and if interested help me achieve this new goal.”

  • Learn, Erase, Repeat!

    Funded Aug 15, 2017

I would like to thank you so much for donating these awesome supplies to my classroom. My students were so excited when they called me from the office to say we had boxes of supplies. They were so eager to open them and begin using all the items. Basically this project funded materials to practice spelling and organization. We received magnets, dry erases boards and clothes to erase. My children LOVE to use the magnets and dry erase boards to practice spelling during centers. I also use it as a whole group activity it avoids the use of too much paper plus kids are always more excited to write with dry erase boards than paper pencil. OVERALL, MY STUDENTS ARE DOING GREAT IN SPELLING. I believe this is due to the great materials you send to my classroom which motivates my students to learn. THANK-YOU!!!”

Hello. I love being a teacher and helping my students succeed in any way I can. Working in a low economic area with a mixture of children(English Language Learners, At-Risk, Special Needs ect.) makes it difficult at times. But with your help I know we can accomplish our goal of preparing the youth of today for tomorrow's future! :)
