Lovin' Literacy
Funded Feb 26, 2011Thank you so much for making a donation to my classroom. All of the literacy resources have been such a great addition to our classroom this year. My students and I were very anxious to get them in and start using them.
Having these items in my classroom has been so great to be able to provide additional literacy activities for my students. My students use literacy games and activities each day while I'm teaching in small groups. I love being able to incorporate the items into our daily center routine.
My students love using our new literacy games as you can see in the pictures. They offer a fun way to learn how to recognize letters and their sounds and rhyming. This is a crucial skill they need to be able to learn how to read. My students love the file folder games you gave us. I love to hear my students trying their very hardest to read words. While I am teaching in guided reading groups, my students are engaged in literacy centers. These games you provided give them an opportunity to put their learning to good use. The materials have enhanced our center library of choices to use during center time.
My students use the items that you provided for us daily. My students were so gracious when they learned that someone they didn't even know "bought" this for them. They asked, "Why did they choose our classroom?" I explained how there are great people in the world that cares about them and their success! Math and Success Add Up!
Funded Dec 16, 2010Thank you so much for making a donation to my classroom. All of the math manipulatives have been such a great addition to our classroom this year. My students and I were very anxious to get them in and start using them.
Having these items in my classroom has been so great to be able to provide additional math activities for my students. We didn't have many math choices to choose from before we were provided with several additional things. I love being able to incorporate the items into my daily math routine.
My students have loved being able to use and play with the different math manipulatives. When our box of "goodies" arrived, my students said, "What is all that stuff?" I explained to them that someone was gracious enough to buy these items for our classroom. They thought that was very nice. All of these great math items provide a nice learning experience for my students. They get challenged from all levels of thinking & are learning different skills. They love the math sorting cash registers. We have been learning about money so this was a perfect addition. They also love the addition game that you gave to us. The spinners and counters are great for little hands. The sequencing puzzles have also been great!
My students and I use these wonderful math manipulatives daily. Math has become a fun and exciting time since our new materials arrived a few week ago. Thanks again for your generosity and I hope this inspires you to make another dream come true for a most grateful teacher! ”

A, B, C, D, E, F, G! Early Learning is the Key!
Funded Jan 27, 2011How can I thank you enough for being the generous caring person that you have shown? Your kindness has touched not only my life, but 18 little ones as well. We are already using our materials that you gave to us.
My students love using our new literacy games as you can see in the pictures. They offer a fun way to learn how to recognize letter sequence, names and sounds. These games also teach us simple words. This is a crucial skill they need to be able to learn how to read. My students love the matching letter and sounds games. I love to hear my students trying to figure out which sounds and pictures match up. I can tell they are interested in learning and trying their best to find the ones that have the same beginning sounds. "Lap"top Writing
Funded Apr 20, 2010I cannot thank you enough for the generous donation you made to our classroom. We desperately needed new white boards and you helped make that dream a reality. With funds being cut, we have a hard time finding money for the resources needed to help our students become successful and for teachers to teach most effectively. Without the DonorsChoose organization, I would not have the resources I have today and it is because of donors like you.
I hope you can see in the pictures how much my students love our new white boards. They want to use them everyday during circle time and in centers. So, we pretty much do. The boards have been an excellent tool to see my students' growth and learning. Sometimes I call out words or letters and the students write it on their board. Our new boards are much bigger than our old ones so my students have plenty of room to write so much more. I also like the fact that each student has their own board to work on and they don't have to share this item.
Again, I cannot express to you how appreciative my students and I are for our new materials. We have already put them to good use and will continue to do so. Thanks again for donating to our classroom!”

KindergARTen Fun With ART!
Funded Feb 28, 2010I am sending this letter of appreciation as a small token from my classroom and me. I cannot explain how thankful I am to have received wonderful new art materials for my classroom. My students have made thank you notes to show their appreciation also. I hope you see through these notes and the pictures we are sending how thankful we really are and how you have impacted our classroom.
Our new art supplies are great! My students especially love the colored dot painters. They can make so many different things with them, and it is a unique art experience other than regular painting. My students have also enjoyed using the rubbing crayons to use with our stencils and rubbing plates. I will be able to use all of the materials in my classroom for many years.

Read, Sing, Tell!
Funded Jan 8, 2010I am sending this letter of appreciation as a small token from my classroom and me. I cannot explain how thankful I am to have received wonderful new materials for my classroom. My students have made thank you notes to show their appreciation also. One of my students' favorite centers is now the listening center. It is because of the books on tape and songs with books that you gave our classroom. My students use these new materials every day at school. Now, I can't imagine not having these wonderful classic stories and songs for my kinderkids to hear each day. This type of literacy skills are so important at this young age. Just being able to follow print, hear the words, and see the pictures is giving them so many skills they will use for the rest of their lives. Thanks for being a part of my students' lives in helping them become successful readers.

ABC Mystery!

We have enjoyed using our new literacy games each week. My students love the new alphabet mystery box and the magnetic language and alphabet centers. They are so much fun to work with and are great learning tools. I have added both of these materials to our center choices for students to work with. We have used them so much already. While I am busy teaching small groups, students are able to work with and explore the new materials you so generously provided our classroom with.

Little Artists

I hope you see how bright and fun my students are through the thank you notes. My students worked hard on writing their very best and drawing pictures that represent the resources you gave us.
We have enjoyed using our new art materials this year so much. My students especially love to use the bingo dotters for art projects, math games, and literacy activities. They also love to watercolor. Both of these materials provide us with a unique type of art instead of the same old thing of crayons and markers. We have used all of the things you gave us each week and usually several times each week. Our paintbrushes were old and worn out and we love the new ones.

Learning Made "Easel" Easy!
Funded Mar 24, 2009How can I thank you enough for being the generous caring person that you have shown to my students and me? We are sending letters of appreciation to show how thankful we are. I hope you see how bright and fun my students are through the thank you notes. My students worked hard on writing their very best and drawing pictures that represent the resources you gave us.
We have enjoyed using our new materials so much. The easel at our small group table has made instruction time be much more well spent. It has helped organize our materials to make learning more efficient. Also, the work organizer has been a great tool to help my students know exactly where to turn in their work. Also, it helps me keep their work organized so I can get it graded and back to them in a timely manner. My students love our new story wands that you gave us. They are so bright and colorful and my students think it's a treat to get to use them. They love when I pull them out after reading a story and ask them comprehension questions from them. They make learning so much fun!
We use these new materials daily. They have helped us be better organized. My students said, "Who bought this new stuff for us?" I explained to them that there are people in the world that care about them and their successes and that a wonderful person gave us these things.
