We currently utilize a more traditional notebook system for my students to take notes, organize their work, and study. However, research shows that interactive notebooks, or notebooks where students create dynamic components, will enhance long-term student content mastery. My students long to be active members of their education. These composition notebooks and colored paper will allow me to create reading, writing, and grammar lessons that give my students the opportunity to take more ownership in the note-taking, learning, and studying processes. The colored paper, in particular, will help visually engage my students, as well as activate memory processes for future retention.
