I teach second grade at a small neighborhood school in California. We are trying to provide students with the resources and opportunities to personalize their own learning journeys. This means that students set and reflect on their own academic and personal goals. It means that they choose where and how they learn. It means our classrooms are flexible learning environments. It is my hope that our students can become self-aware, critical thinkers who find and cultivate their passion through their schooling. Most of our students are eligible for the free/reduced lunch program and resources are scarce.
