The students in the Theatre Department are working on their spring production, The Modern Tragedy of Macbeth. The show has been cast with 15 student actors and the student technical crew total to over 20 students. Since we are a new program and at a low-income school, we are asking for some materials and equipment to help make this the best production at our school! We are requesting funds for materials to help create the set of Macbeth. These materials include muslin, fabric dyes, fog machine, fog machine fluids, and fake blood. These materials will be used by the student technical crews to create a cauldron set piece, and the hanging set dressing. Receiving these materials will give students the opportunity to actively create functional set pieces for a production. We are also requesting funds for a fog machine to create a spooky atmosphere for the show. Lastly, we are requesting funds for five stage swords and stage daggers. These swords are extremely important for the show and will give students the opportunity to learn stage combat. A stage combat choreographer is donating their time to teach the student actors in the play their fight scenes. These swords will outlive this production and give future students the opportunity to learn with them.
