Learning on the Move!
Funded Oct 17, 2016Thank you for the donation to my school. We have had a very challenging year with construction to many areas in our building. The donation of the document reader allowed me to take pictures of large and small images from books and even my bulletin board items and store the information on a flash drive. I was later able to show these images during class discussion using a portable projector.
Students are so tuned into technology now that they are more receptive to the information presented in this fashion. A very negative situation has been turned to the positive.
Thank you for your kind donation.”

Fit Brain and Body
Funded Oct 20, 2015Thank you for funding the Fit Brain and Body project! My students were so excited to have another Wii in the Wellness Center. Now my students have even more choices to get active. Many students like to use the cardio machines like the treadmill, elliptical, or fitness cycles but others like to use weights, stretch, dance, or play sports games. The new Wii we received gives us the opportunity to offer all these choices now.
Some of the students were very excited about the new Just Dance games we received where others loved the option of playing a sport virtually using Wii Sport. There were students that have never played using a Wii before so they spent some time watching and learning but were quickly taking their turn when they saw just how easy it was to start moving.
The students working out on the cardio machines enjoy listening to the music that is playing on the Wii. Students are moving and brains are being supplied ample oxygen. We are helping produce Fit Brains and Bodies!”

Getting to the Core of Fitness
Funded Oct 7, 2014My students were very excited to have another fitness choice when they were introduced to the newly acquired equipment in the wellness center. It is quite amazing how a small change can make a huge impact on students.
After the equipment was put together it was easy to include the station in our normal fitness routine. The Fitness Circuit enables us to get about 24 more students moving in a small amount of space. They can work on flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness by moving through the circuit.
Student learning increased immediately with the addition of this new program. As a teacher with over 60 students in each class, making sure my students are all on task is a challenge. Thanks for helping me meet the challenge.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Produce For Kids Publix and 4 other donors.Bell to Bell with Kettlebells!
Funded Dec 5, 2013Thank you for the wonderful kettlebells and instructional tools. We have placed the kettlebells in the Wellness Center as an exercise station. By doing this we have created 10 more ways for our students to participate.
Although our Wellness Center is outstanding we were short on strength training exercises. The kettlebells have filled that gap. Students are able to use the muscle hot spots to remind them of all the muscles they need to work out and the exercises that will help them reach their goals.
Student learning soared with this simple addition to our program. The motivation for myself as and educator and for my students is immeasurable.”
