  • Bilingual Dictionaries Double Success

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Thank you for the bilingual dictionaries. Our students will use the every day to enhance their learning in their ESOL English class. Having a physical dictionary helps students bring information in which creates another learning tool to be used in their classes and during essential testing experiences.

By providing these dictionaries, you also motivated other teachers. Teachers saw that we had the dictionaries and wanted to know how they could get these much needed resources into their classrooms.

You are helping our school grow!!”

  • Drumming to Wellness

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

My students were so excited to try the new aerobic drumming workout using the drumsticks, stability balls, and support buckets.

The equipment offers a carefree workout to add to their regular workout routine. The ability to bring, rhythm, music, fun, and creativity afforded an opportunity for joy and relaxation. The smiles on their faces told the story.

The next step is to invite teachers to join us after school to increase the student teacher bond. They are looking forward to leading a class and sharing the joy with their teachers.”

  • Self-care Through Strength

    Funded Nov 26, 2023

Thank you for adding another layer of connection in my classroom. My students were a little intimidated at first when we unpacked the supplies. There were items they had never seen before.

The juggling scarves were a hit after the initial hesitation. Before I knew it they were engaging in the activity, living in the moment, and feeling ok about making simple mistakes and moving forward.

Being more familiar with the exercise balls and exercise bands made a good transition from the familiar to the unknown. The students tried the calm strips and the breathing stations and learned to enjoy both.

Again, thank you for bringing the joy of self-care to our classroom!”

  • Creativity for Creating Culture

    Funded May 9, 2023

The full color printer has made a difference in promoting, planning and implementing our Special Education Field Day. Not only is this event an amazing way to positively change culture, but it also encourages the education of all students.

The simple act of adding color to signs and decorations makes an impact on the visual impact of the event. It is motivating to the students to have new technology learn and use.

Our special education and general education students work together to make this event successful. Working together increases inclusivity and creates positive culture.”

  • Getting Out Of The Box - Beach Volleyball

    Funded Feb 21, 2022

Thank you for making such a positive impact on our student athletes and our school. The students are so excited to use the new volleyball equipment and supplies to move out of the gym and into the fresh air and sunshine to practice their volleyball skills.

As soon as the students saw the GoSports Slam 4X volleyball game, they were motivated to get moving. They said, "We are going to have so much fun warming up for games!", "Beach volleyball is an amazing challenge!, and "These YANYODO volleyballs are so nice!"

Our students will be using the equipment to practice their volleyball skills, stay fit, and help motivate other students to use fitness to improve their lives. Having a Champion Sports Official Volleyball Net will round out our outdoor volleyball setup.”

  • Positivity Project

    Funded Mar 19, 2021

Thank you so much for the Cricut paper and vinyl for our classroom and school. We used the products to create positive words, posters, and bulletin boards for display in the classroom, hallways, online, and on student's personal items.

The students were very excited to have paper and vinyl to be used with our Cricut machine for their community service projects.

We have only scratched the surface of all that we will do for our school to continue to improve our environment with positive visual presentations. Our next goal is to win the door decorating contest for December.”

  • Cricut Cutting for Kindness

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

The Cricut cutting machine has been put to very good use. Students have designed posters and word signs which will be used to encourage kindness and encouragement to the students in our class and the student body as a whole.

Many of my students had never seen a Cricut cutting machine, or the supplies used to make signs, posters, words, and even three-dimensional objects. They were excited to be able to design, create, and display something that helped change the bland culture our COVID protocol produced. The washable self-adhesive vinyl was the perfect solution to displaying the signs while still adhering to the appropriate protocols.

Students are now using the Cricut cutting machine to continue sharing kindness by completing their own personal projects for the community service project required for graduation. Most students in this class are in tenth grade. This has allowed the students complete their community service project in a safe way. Thank you for touching my students in such a positive, sustainable way. We will be able to use the Cricut for years to come.”

  • NO Wi-Fi...No Problem! DVD'S Save The Day!

    Funded Dec 10, 2019

Your donation has made an impact in a way we never expected. The intent of this project was to obtain portable DVD players to create stations in our Fitness/Wellness Center and in our classroom. Sometimes our Wi-Fi does not work properly so we needed a way to keep large classes going without the use of Wi-Fi. We were able to plan our stations and test them out a few times before school was closed due to Covid 19. But then we had to transition to Distance Online Learning.

What is so exciting is that I was able to bring one of the DVD players home with some selected equipment so I could use it to demonstrate exercises and workouts at home via Zoom on our Microsoft Team classroom. The students are benefiting from the equipment without even being in the classroom.

There were some students who really liked the option of using the DVD to do a workout. Some are a little shy about working out in large, noisy groups. They were able to do a personalized workout using a DVD from our classroom selection in a quieter corner of our workout spaces. The DVD players also allow for flash drives to play music or recorded workouts selected from online. They are very motivated to workout out with a popular celebrity or fitness instructor. Many liked using it as a cool down, stretching, or meditation station.

We look forward to using all the DVD players in the Fitness/Wellness Center after the people of this great country figure out a way to overcome this Pandemic and we can return to school. Who would have ever known that a grant from DonorsChoose.org with matching funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation would be so successful using the very format Mr. Gates created?”

  • Learning on the Move!

    Funded Oct 17, 2016

Thank you for the donation to my school. We have had a very challenging year with construction to many areas in our building. The donation of the document reader allowed me to take pictures of large and small images from books and even my bulletin board items and store the information on a flash drive. I was later able to show these images during class discussion using a portable projector.

Students are so tuned into technology now that they are more receptive to the information presented in this fashion. A very negative situation has been turned to the positive.

Thank you for your kind donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Holden
