  • Listen to the Beat

    Funded Apr 7, 2021

My English Language Learners and I would like to thank you for the generous donation you made to our class. We were so excited to receive the Bose speaker that we set it up the same day we received it.

As you can see from the photos, the students began dancing to the music. They truly enjoy dancing, doing some simple yoga moves, and exercising within the classroom.

It also brought such great joy to listen to a story or vocabulary video while not straining to listen to the words. The students could easily recall details which enhanced their discussions.

Once again thank you so much for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Torres

  • Squeaky Clean Care Package

    Funded Feb 17, 2021

Thank you for your generous gift. My English Language Learners were so excited to receive the toothpaste and toothbrush especially since it correlated with Dental Health month. They found it funny when I shared a story about keeping clean and washing our hair. They also loved the socks especially since they had an animal design on them (It matched our Animal Theme). First graders are so appreciative of the every day things that one can easily take for granted. Thank you so much for helping me provide comfort for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Torres

  • Let's Keep Germs Away!

    Funded Dec 20, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation especially during these trying times.

My students and I were so excited to open up the box. You created a holiday environment with the anticipation of opening gifts.

We tested the thermometer and everyone wanted to get "zapped" (temperature taken). The cleaning wipes on the electronics were so easy to use. The students will get a sense of sharing the iPad while I make sure to keep the germs away. They were also grateful to receive new masks. My future surprise will be to let them design their masks with crayons.

Once again, thank you for being a caring person.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Torres

  • Germs Stay Away!

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

My students and I were beyond excited to begin using the generous gifts that were donated by you. My first grade English Language Learners used their language skills to ask questions related to the air purifier and hand sanitizing wipes. They were so curious as to why someone would give us a present. I was truly overwhelmed with happiness that your generosity went beyond the material items and my students practiced their English skills. Thank you so much for helping us keep a classroom free of germs. :)”

  • Learn Through Games!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

My English Language Learners and I are so grateful for the generous gift you have bestowed upon us. We were so excited to receive the laptop. We will use it to connect to the internet and play educational gifts. We will play games like Minecraft to build our own city and Starfall which supports the phonics program. We will also utilize the laptop to listen to stories which are related to the reading program. All the students will be able to watch and listen to the animal videos that correlate to the Science topics.

Once again, thank you for your generosity.”

  • Organization Is Key

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

It is with great appreciation that I write this note. My English Language Learners and I would like to say thank you for your generosity.

The bins will help the students keep their supplies organized and separate from one another. This is very helpful during these difficult times.

The table will be an additional way to help keep us organized. It will hold our books, papers, and daily materials. It will also help me individually assess students without making them feel concerned about the distance, this is especially important since they are six years old.

Once again, thank you so much.”

  • Technology & Remote Learning!

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Thank you for your generosity. My English Language Learners and I are so grateful to have a device that can be easily cleaned, as well as, be accessible to move from one student to another. They will get to experience sharing a device while still practicing social distance.

The Chromebook is a simple device for my first grades to use. The students will play educational games in order to recall the sight words that we are learning in class. They will also practice to add by drawing pictures to correspond to Math stories.

Once again thank you for Chromebook. :)”

  • Learning Through iPad!

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

I am so thrilled to have experienced the generosity that you have so kindly provided for my students.

My first grade students will have the opportunity to type using the Logitech Keyboard case for the iPad which is the perfect size for their little fingers. My English Language Learners can practice typing everyday sight words like 'the', 'like', and 'is' to name a few. They will also have opportunities to write captions for their drawings. This will inspire them to further use the English language.

Thank you once again for your gift.”

  • Technology for Remote Learning!

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation which will allow my English Language Learners to use technology to enhance their English skills.

The iPad will allow students to connect multiple subject areas while they are learning. For instance, students will be posed with a task or question and in return they will use their imagination, as well as, connect technology with Art, Math, and Writing. By including varies entry points, students will reach their own learning goals.

Once again thank you helping my students experience learning through technology.”

  • Technology for Remote Learning!

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

We were so excited to hear that the project got funded since technology is embedded into class lessons. Unfortunately, the HP Chromebook is such a popular item for teachers and students that I needed to replace the item. The great thing is that I was able to replace it with items that can be used daily. For example, temperature checks provide safety and security. The book bins can hold books we are currently using while the office chair allows for a school-feeling environment.

Thank you for your donation. It is greatly appreciated!”

My ENL students attend a Title One School who get free breakfast and lunch. Our school furniture is old and outdated. The students enjoy working on differentiated group activities and in a risk free environment. They want to be able to store their hard work in an area that is easily located and organized. Also, students need lots of labeling and pictures to model reading, writing, and math through the use of charts.
