This classroom project was brought to life by Panda Cares and 20 other donors.Trikes for Tykes
Funded Nov 27, 2019Thank you so much for helping us get our tricycles!
Outside time is one of the children's favorite times of the day and now they will be able to ride outside. I can't wait to see their faces and hear their enthusiasm when they see the tricycles and finally get to ride them. Learning to ride these tricycles will help our children to develop gross motor skills such as coordination and balance and will also help them with their social and problem solving skills.
We are sincerely grateful for your help in making this happen and all the children and teachers appreciate it!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Marta Rodriguez
This classroom project was brought to life by PNC Grow Up Great® and 9 other donors.Pre-K's Art Garden
Funded Apr 30, 2010We have received the materials requested and our students have started to use them. Our students already made 4 stepping stones and truly enjoyed making them. They helped mix the cement and understood that we had to let it sit before we could add the glass and ceramic pieces to give it color and design. All four Pre-K classes worked together to make the stepping stones. The students take pride in showing their parents and other students at our school their finished work.
We also planted seeds in small containers. We planted corn, pumpkin and beans to recreate the "Three Sisters Garden" that the Indians used to plant many years ago. We tied in our planting with our unit about Indians and Thanksgiving Day. We were involved in a fundraising activity in our school and donors finally helped us build a container for our garden. The students used the garden tools we received through Donor's Choose to turn the soil and clear the area of any weeds or grass. The students have learned the names of all the garden tools and have learned about all the hard work that goes into starting a garden. We are supposed to get the delivery of the soil for our container garden soon and all the children will be transplanting their small plants into the bigger area. We can't wait to see our garden grow and we will be keeping a record of it by drawing the different stages of our plants. ”
