This past year was my first year teaching and I was in 1st grade. I was able to collect lots of grade appropriate books for my kids. I saw how much these books impacted them and developed their love for reading! They were age appropriate and it was something they could read on their own, which was exciting for them! This next year I will be going from 1st grade to 4th grade, but with all my 1st grade books. While these books were great, 4th graders aren't always enticed by Dr. Seuss. In fourth grade they are becoming amazing readers and deserve challenging and exciting books! Books such as A Series of Unfortunate Events and Harry Potter are very popular and they love to read about children their own age and the adventures they encounter. With chapter books that are age appropriate it will help them to become better readers, challenge their reading skills, and find literature that they love.
