The games has made returning back to in-person learning from Covid-19 Remote Schooling much more enjoyable! The Bingo games are a HUGE hit for the entire class! The phonics puzzles and activities have allowed our younger readers opportunity to play and learn cooperatively.
Thank you for making an impact!”

Super Literacy Centers
Funded Dec 16, 2019Thank you so much for your monetary donations towards our class materials! Your donation went towards a variety of literacy games that kids can learn and play together. Hands-on, cooperative learning engages kids in the learning process. Some of the games include magnetic phonic match-ups, sight word reading and writing practice, phonic puzzles and comprehension sequencing games. Kids play with these hands on games if they need to review particular skill, or they play with the games during their Free Choice Time. It's wonderful to have a variety of options for kids when I have to guide a small group of students.”

Reinvigorate Recess With Refreshed Playground Equipment!
Funded May 6, 2019Thank you for your generous donation towards my student's playground equipment! Recess time is noticeably livelier! The hula-hoops, jump-ropes, chalk, bouncy and soccer balls have made a wonderful impact in the way students play and interact with one another! Students are also connecting more with other students beyond our classroom by inviting and sharing the new equipment. I have also noticed students inventing creative ways to use the equipment. Overall, kids have remarked recess time is more fun and they are working together to take extra care of their equipment.”

Funded Nov 21, 2018Thank you for your generous donation towards my classroom, my students love their 'Book Buddy' reading bags! Not only have you helped me to create an organized system to support and manage 53 students, the simple reading bags are an integral tool that affects their learning, as well as my instruction! The simple truth: kids love to shop and they love the freedom of choice, and when provided these opportunities, the more kids read, the better readers they become! ”

Funded Nov 3, 2017Thank you for your generous gift and for supporting the learning of these enthusiastic, bright-minded 1st Graders.
You've afforded my students more technology experiences! The physical location of my portable classroom does not allow for convenient and quick use of our school's IPads. With these new tablets I am able to provide more opportunities for my students to develop and practice their reading and math skills. Students also enjoy using these tablets because they allow for flexible seating in our portable classroom, kids can work at their desk, on a bean bag or on the carpet floor!”

Help Replenish B4's Classroom Supply Bins!
Funded Apr 3, 2015Thank you for your generous donation! Nearing the end of the school year my class supplies dwindle and they need to be replenished. The items students often need are white board markers, pencils, pencil erasers and glue sticks. In a low-income (Title-One) school, little funding is available to pay for these extra expenses, particularly during the last couple months of school. It is with your help students' learning will not be interrupted and I won't have to break my bank to pay for these items! Thanks again!”

Young Mathematicians Need Manipulatives!
Funded Dec 19, 2014Thank you for your generosity! My students were quite enthusiastic when I opened the package of math materials needed for the class.
They had fun playing and learning from the Place Value Bingo, for some students this was the first time they played Bingo!
They used the linking cubes as hands-on visual supports while practicing the Bar Modeling Method for problem solving. The cubes came in handy for a Balancing & Weighing Science Lesson too!
I now have enough game cards to pass around to individual students; they were eager to do math problems when they each had a deck of cards!
Once again, thank you Chevron and Anonymous Donors for supplying my classroom with fun, engaging math materials!”

Tools for Literacy
Funded Oct 6, 2011This is a small token of gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The leveled reading books that you donated helps my students daily and it is amazing to see how enthusiastic they are about reading! You are helping my students to become better readers by matching them to "Just Right" books through leveled reading. They enjoy independently choosing from a variety of fiction and nonfiction text, having a greater variety of books in the classroom benefits a wide range of readers.
As with many public schools, we are facing a budget shortfall, so without your help, my students would not have these additional, vital resources. At the primary level, literacy is an important indicator of academic success. Without donors like you, many classrooms would go without. Thank you for caring!”
With gratitude,
Ms. M.
