ESL Students Needs to Learn English Foundational Skills
Funded Mar 2, 2023There is not a single way to teach English to ESL students! The materials you kindly donors has helped my ESL students to learn English naturally through peer interaction with native speakers. They used the materials during their center station time, and they enjoyed it!
The materials are organized by skill level which helped to read a book that it is easy to decode, and it is such a fun way for them using colorful materials!
Also, I always have to reward them after a good day of learning with a healthy and not very sugary snack, so we are thankful that with your donation we got the fruity snacks too!”

Funded Oct 26, 2021Thanks to your donation I have now a better organized classroom which is not only beneficial for me as a teacher, but my students also benefit from this organization as well! It promotes a relaxed environment where they can focus and learn. There's no more clutter and with the chair pocket chair back organizer the kids have the perfect solution for storing and organizing their school materials while keeping them easily accessible. Also the plastic binders and the chart help us to organize class work and homework papers. The children loved their take home bags and they are taking home books everyday!”

Funded Dec 14, 2018Me and my class we really appreciate to have a new rug. My whole class fits on it and takes part in Circle Time. I have been able to develop a positive relationship between me and my students, mainly the new comers. Our circle time encourages unity, respect, turn-taking and working together towards a shared vision. During read aloud on the rug, my students develop these skills better; thinking, listening, looking, speaking and concentrating.
Circle Time also has other benefits for my students as individuals and as a group such as:
• Increased self-esteem.
• A sense of community.
• An understanding of how their behavior affects others.
• Improved emotional intelligence.
• Improved problem-solving skills.
• A sense of responsibility.
• Improved relationships between children, and their teacher.”

Listening to a book on CD Helps me to Decode
Funded Nov 13, 2018Our children have been able to pay full attention while using the tape recorder that you donate us! Often, it appeared that our little ones were interested more in talking and playing, but not so much in paying attention. However, listening stories in Cd's, playing prerecorded bingo games and songs, has been easier using a tape recorder! Our children hear and remember all the songs and stories they are told, in other words they improved their listening skills!. We really appreciate your donation.”

Funded May 19, 2017I want to thank you for all the materials listed below:
The world map that was provided for our class helped our students to learn about Geography and understand the physical and cultural characteristics of the world. Geographic education provides the values, knowledge, concepts, and skills to better understand ourselves, our relationship to the earth, and our interdependence with other peoples of the world Place names and locations are stressed in geography in the elementary grades, as are map and globe skills and the recognition of physical landforms appearing on maps. Teachers promote the study of geography through one or more teaching strategies: personal experiences, textbooks and printed media, and a world map.
To Build interest in science using hands-on labs in our classroom our students can use the microscope pro (microscope set) to investigate about insects, rocks, and any other objects that are included in the science curriculum first hand!
The white board has helped to relieve the amount of writing using the chalkboard and amount of dust and reduction of allergies. We also are using the set of markers that work well on the white board.
I have used the self-sticky dry erase sheets to write my daily objectives and erase them every week, so the students can read it on the board, and I can reuse them next year!
Also, I used the white board to stick to do my daily weather graph and I can place it anywhere in the classroom in any surface.
I cannot thank you enough for the materials received!”

Less Distractions and More Reading!
Funded Feb 13, 2017Our entire classroom is exposed to multimedia presentations almost every day. Using headphones help keep students from being distracted, if those around them are talking or if there are noises coming from outside the classroom. Distractions make it difficult to concentrate, but if students use their headphones they are attentive and concentrate better on the multimedia presentation. Using multimedia presentations and language learning applications are an important resource in the classroom. Therefore using headphones for audio learning benefit our students and promote a good learning environment.”
