  • Empower Our Flag Football Girls!

    It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I write this response and thank you letter. The girls are over the moon excited to have received their new equipment. We have already used the armbands and game balls in a tournament in December, as well as continually during our conditioning sessions.

    We are coming off of our most successful season to date, but after four years, the team is rebuilding again. This infusion of excitement and quality, has set the tone for the upcoming season. The dazzling blend of youth and experience, coupled with high expectations, and now this new equipment and training material to top things off.

  • Inaugural Girls Flag Football Team

    Thank for providing the G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School Girls Flag Football team with the resources necessary to jumpstart our initial season. The flags and practice bibs are an immense help and greatly appreciated. As we start the new school year, the impact is already apparent, as there is a healthy buzz about the upcoming season. With this new sport and program, many girls who otherwise would not have decided to play a sport are getting active and wanting to become part of the team.

    Ultimately, the hope is that these girls have fun being part of a team to represent their school, become healthier, and show improved confidence with both their schoolwork and overall self image.

The girls who have so far come out for the inaugural practice sessions range from grades 9 to 11, multi-sport athletes to novices, advanced academics to low-performing students, with a wide range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

We're a large high school in Miami-Dade County (one of the largest counties in the nation) with a multi-cultural 97% minority population. The girls who have so far come out for the inaugural practice sessions range from grades 9 to 11, multi-sport athletes to novices, advanced academics to low-performing students, with a wide range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
