My students are fabulous! They are typically grouped according to their reading level and I have all ability groups with low minority, average socio-economic and free and reduced lunch status. Therein lies the issue. Because of our "average" rating, we are unable to obtain state funding in many areas. Students are extremely willing to learn, however, and do very well on state tests. but we would soar with updated technology and a better means to maintain this generation's digital learner. My school has a great administration supportive of innovation, but often has to "wait on funding" or has no funding to allow teachers to move forward with their ideas. Unfortunately, many students and teachers fail to reach their fullest potential because of such set backs so I am especially excited and thankful for the opportunity to gain support!
