  • Organization in Kindergarten!

    Funded Aug 12, 2023

Thank you all so very much! These shelves will help organize our center choices for math, reading, science and social studies. They will help teach my students how to be (and stay) organized in our classroom. I am looking forward to another wonderful year in kindergarten. Thank you for supporting my wonderful students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Steinberg

  • Organizing Our Classroom

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Wow! Thank you so much for your generous contributions! We will be using these bins to help organize our classroom. After 10 years in our room, we are in need of a great upgrade. We will use this bins to help us organize our centers and classroom library! I can't wait to get started! Thank you so much.”

  • Big Book Storage Cart

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Wow! Thank you so much! After being in the same classroom for the last 10 years, we were in need of a big update! I previously had a large wire bookcase to hold our big books. This new holder will protect our big books and make them much more accessible for the students! Thank you for your kindness in supporting the students at Decatur!”

  • White Boards

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

Thank you so much for your support! Unfortunately, I was not able to use the whiteboards this school year, but I am looking forward to supporting my students' learning experiences in the 2021-2022 school year.

The lined side of the whiteboards will help my students practice their printing. The blank side will allow the students to practice drawing and free write.

I am so appreciative of all you've done to help my students. This has been a very challenging year, but I am already looking forward to next school year. Have a happy and healthy summer!”

  • Virtual Versatility

    Funded Sep 7, 2020

What an unprecedented school year this has been! Teaching from home was a challenge for so many, but with the use of these materials, I was able to greatly enhance the learning experience for my students.

We used the magnetic letters during phonics, the magnetic numbers in math class, and the whiteboard was used throughout all subject areas!

I'm looking forward to bringing these materials into my classroom during the next school year in order to support my next group of students.

Thank you all for your generosity! Have a happy and healthy summer!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Steinberg

  • Getting Cozy in Kindergarten #3

    Funded Dec 24, 2020

Wow! I cannot thank you all enough for your support. I've been using the same old furniture in my classroom for the last 10 years and they had been in my classroom for quite some time before that.

These new tables and chairs will brighten up our classroom and provide a much more colorful learning environment.

Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, I was unable to use the furniture this school year, but I am looking forward to a fresh, bright start to the 2021-2022 school year. Have a happy and healthy summer. Thank you again!”

  • Active Artists Get Organized!

    Funded Sep 5, 2018

This has been one of my favorite projects yet! Not only have the students enjoyed doing arts and crafts projects here during free center Fridays (their favorite part of the week), they've used this center throughout all aspects of the day! They've used the art center to work on projects with buddies, play games and publish illustrations during Writer's Workshop.

The art center has become a central location for students to work together and socialize with their peers. I look forward to watching the students engage with one another. Thank you so much for helping to add some creativity to our classroom! I cannot wait to see how my students utilize this wonderful center in the future! Thank you again!”

  • Guided Reading Table for Kindergarten Students

    Funded Aug 23, 2016

I can't even begin to tell you how much this table has changed my classroom! We are currently implementing Blended Learning in our room and it is a wonderful location for guided reading, guided writing and other small group instruction.

When my students saw the table, they were so excited to have a great place to read together! Every day, I meet with my students at the table to work on our reading and writing skills. They look forward to their reading time each day. The u-shape of the table allows me to easily see all students in my group quickly.

I have a seen so much growth in my students in the few short month since I've met them. For many of them, this is their first school experience. They now know many sight words and are reading short stories! I'm so proud of their progress and so much of it is due to the great reading location we've had thanks to our great table!

Thank you for supporting my students and helping them to grow! I look forward to all the learning the rest of this school year brings!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Steinberg

My future kindergarten students are from a public school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They will be 5-6 years old and full of enthusiasm for school. Some of them will be a little frightened to start this new journey and others will be ready to dive right in!
