I work at an inner city elementary school in New York. The school has been designated a Primary Years Programme International Baccalaureate school and teaches wonderful inquiry-based units of study. My special education students generally need a number of things to help level the playing field for them so they can successfully access the general education curriculum. This could include anything from healthy snacks so they are not hungry to sensory materials to books and other resources that fit their needs and reading levels so they can bridge the gap between their reading levels and the 5th grade texts. I am grateful to my generous donorschoose.org friends for the ongoing support you have offered us over the past decade, and I am looking forward to the next one!
