Rocketing Into Distance Learning
Funded Nov 30, 2020Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for finding our project. This school year is so different, and students needs tools to help them become successful in the online and hybrid environments. These Rocketbooks are going to help them do just that. I cannot wait to get these in the hands of my students!”

Funded May 5, 2020March 12, 2020 was our last day in the classroom with our students. We did not know it would be our last day to see our students in person, give them a hug, and have real classroom discussions for the next few months. This project allowed us the opportunity to provide students with white boards they could use at home to practice their vocabulary words, work out math problems, and draw their mental maps. The earbuds were extremely helpful for students who have other siblings also on Zoom at their homes. I've heard from many students from last year that they are still using their earbuds and whiteboards this school year while we continue school virtually. Thank you so much for your donation and helping bring us just a little closer to our students who were so far away.”

Funded Jan 24, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to this project. With school closing, I wasn't able to have my students write thank-yous and the photos I took are saved on the network at school. However, I want you to know that the students this year were able to use the circuit for some of their projects. My students had a social studies project where they researched different ancient civilizations. They had to create a tri-fold board that showed different aspects of the community. Many of the students asked if they'd be able to create titles and different items for their boards. It was great to see them using the technology to be creative and add these elements to their projects.
While we won't be able to make our t-shirts for this year, I do plan to use those materials to begin the year with my new students next year. This will be a great first week activity where we develop a team shirt design and work on getting those put together. I forsee this project bringing creativity through technology to my classroom for years to come.”

Funded Aug 3, 2019We are only a few weeks into the school year, but my students are already enjoying the green screen so much! My students, for the most part, have been together since Kindergarten. By the time they get to me in 6th grade, the basic get-to-know you activities are boring for them. This year, I was able to give them the task of using the green screen, their chromebook, and an app to take a photo of themselves in their dream destination. They shared this picture with me and I put them into a slideshow. As I went through, each student shared their dream destination and why they want to go there. This allowed me to still get to know my students, but gave them a fun and creative new way to get to know one another even better.
My students are also excited to use the green screen for their science projects that are upcoming. I can't wait to see what they create this year! Thank you so much for your contribution. You have given my students a new technology that can allow them to be creative and challenge them as well.”

Funded Nov 29, 2018Your generous donation has already had a tremendous impact in our classroom. The books that were donated to our classroom with this project are flying off of the shelf. There is actually a waiting list for two of these books! As soon as I gave a brief overview of the titles, there were several that were checked out within the first day of receiving the books. You have greatly helped to foster a love of reading in my students by providing them with new and interesting books to read.
I have had three reluctant readers who have actually taken books home and willingly read them over playing video games or other activities they normally would have done. One parent emailed me thanking me for helping her son find books that he is interested in and reads by choice. This particular child grew leaps and bounds on his most recent reading test. I truly believe this is because he has read more books this year so far than he's read collectively in the last few years.
Again, thank you for your generous donation. These books will continue to entertain students for years to come.”

Funded Nov 29, 2017I want to start by thanking you for your contribution to our classroom. You truly have no idea how much even the smallest of donations can impact students in their day to day activities in a classroom. It is because of individuals like you that teachers like me are able to provide opportunities for our students to be successful each and every day.
My students are thoroughly enjoying the yoga balls and yoga ball chairs that were donated to our classroom. We have had to develop a rotating system so students have equal opportunities to sit on the yoga balls because the demand for those spots is so high. I feel they have had the greatest impact on my students with ADHD and those who have difficulty staying focused. That small amount of movement while they're working does truly help them focus.
The impact these yoga balls have had on the choices for flexible seating in my room is beyond words. Students have the opportunity to choose a seat that works best for them. They can learn in an environment in which they're comfortable, which allows more learning to take place. I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation.”

Vocabulary Binders and New Curriculum
Funded Aug 22, 2014With the school year well under way, my students and I have made great use of our new vocabulary binders, games, and curriculum. The binders are a wonderful tool to keep all of their words and complete word work activities. I have already seen an improvement in the understanding of vocabulary this year as compared to last year.
The students also love playing the vocabulary games. This is a wonderful thing for me to see because I know they are learning and expanding as they do so. To them, it is just fun (which is what learning should be!).
Your donation is greatly appreciated. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity.”

Funded Oct 7, 2013My students come back after lunch and recess excited for our DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time. It was always a struggle getting them quiet and into reading after having so much free time, but they willingly come in quietly in hopes of getting to use one of the new seats. When it is time to put them away, I hear moans and pleads to continue reading. It is like music to my ears!
Thank you so very much for your donation. You have greatly helped with the motivation to read in our classroom. It is a kind gesture we will not soon forget.”
