  • A Rug of Their Own

    Thank you so much for bringing such excitement into our classroom. The students all cheered when they saw the package with our beautiful rug. Many of my students are picked up throughout the day for therapy, and the therapists kept coming into our room to see the new rug since the students would not stop talking about it. We received our rug just in time for our writer's publishing party. This is when the students get together to show all their writing work and the progress they have made towards their individual goals. The students hopped on the rug, rolled around on it, skipped and read books on it. This rug helps to bring the students together to continue learning to work together as a community. We will continue to enjoy our rug by having our meeting routines on it. This is when we get together to listen to stories and develop new academic skills. What's also great about this rug is that it has numbers on it and letters. This will help the students with activities related to letter and number recognition.

The students are from the surrounding high needs neighborhood and we are in a high needs school. My students also have specific learning challenges.
