Students need to be challenged and have the ability to think, if they are to be successful in life. Our school is located in Arizona. There are 26 students in my 3rd grade classroom. The students are making progress, however with budget cuts and salary freezes, it is difficult and expensive to provide hands-on materials to meet the needs of our rapidly changing computerized world. Our school is a Title 1 school with a high population of free and reduced lunch. Several students struggle daily with Math, Reading, and Writing. This is measured by district, state, and classroom testing. Most of my students do not have computers or access at home.
