My second graders have been studying about different types of severe weather that can affect our North Carolina environment; researching, studying, and producing a presentation on a severe weather type of their choice: hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, and blizzards. In light of the effects of the hurricanes and unexpected heavy snow fall experienced this fall in North Carolina, our culminating activity is to create and develop severe weather survival kits that students can keep in their homes if the need ever arises for their use and we are lacking items in order to complete the kits. Students have developed the list of necessary survival items themselves and need your help to finish preparing their kits!
