One particular challenge that my scholars face is their lack of motivation to read and their lower than normal Lexile levels, which can sometimes discourage them from reading as much as I know they would love to. After asking them what it would take to make them want to read more, they simply stated, "We want interesting books and a space that's relaxing, Ms.J!" With these new reading corner items, I will be able to create a cozy space for my scholars to fall in love with reading! Although, we are not shy about our love for technology, I want the norm for my 7th graders to become holding a book in their hands and letting the words take them on a journey!
