Learning is "App-solutely" Fun with an iPad 2!
Funded Dec 17, 2015My students were so excited about the addition of another iPad to our classroom. They have been using the iPad to use Moby Max to practice their math skills as well as using Tumble Books to listen to stories read aloud. Having the headphone splitter and headphones makes using our new iPad a quieter activity in our classroom. My students love getting their turn on the iPad each week and it is an added bonus that they get to work with a partner in class. The iPad is such a wonderful addition to our classroom. Thank you again for your generous donations and helping to enrich my students' lives!”

Funded Jan 1, 2016WOW! I am amazed at how well my students have responded to having the privacy partitions in our classroom. They love having the privacy to work independently. These partitions have helped them to concentrate better and do better work. I have also seen an improvement in the motivation of some of my more distracted learners. With these partitions, they are able to concentrate solely on their work which has helped their self-esteem tremendously as well. Having the partition stand to store the partitions has helped keep our classroom orderly and will help us take care of our partitions for years to come. The Turn in Your Work Station has made turning in students' work so much more efficient for them as well as myself. Now they know what each color basket is used for and they can help each other when they forget. Thank you again for supporting our classroom!”

Funded Dec 22, 2015My students were so excited to see the box of new books arrive to our classroom and even more excited to see that it was filled with nonfiction texts that they could read. My students have eagerly began exploring these new books and adding them to their book baskets to read during our Daily 5 rotations. These books have greatly increased the reading motivation in my students. They are now so excited to read about topics that interest them in books that are written on their reading levels. I am so excited to see them excited about reading! Thank you again for your support of our classroom!”

Funded Sep 4, 2015I am amazed at how much your generosity has impacted the students in my classroom. They absolutely LOVE using the iPad to listen to stories read aloud during our Daily 5 rotations. Because my students are on so many different reading levels, the iPad is a great tool to reach all my students. They are all able to choose books that interest them and have them read aloud even if they can not read the words themselves yet. They also love using the iPad during our math rotations to play math games and review their math skills. I can see such an improvement in my students' motivation when they know they will each have an opportunity to use the iPad. Thank you again for supporting our classroom!”

Funded Aug 17, 2015My students were so excited when the boxes of new school supplies arrived in our classroom. When they found out that they would each be getting new supplies, they were even more excited. These new supplies have helped each of my students begin the new school year with the same supplies as everyone else. This has greatly improved the morale in my classroom because they all have the same materials to work with. My students love using the new crayons, glue sticks, and pencils to complete their work. Since each student has a pencil box to store their supplies in, less time is spent each time trying to find supplies or decide which supplies belong to which child. These materials have greatly improved daily life within our classroom. Thank you so much for your support!”

Funded Apr 29, 2015My kindergarten students were so excited to see a new iPad in our classroom. They enjoy using the iPad to listen to stories read aloud, play reading games to practice rhyming, sight words, and CVC words, and to just practice writing their sight words in sentences. The addition of a new iPad caused quite a bit of excitement within our classroom. They are so excited when it is their turn to use it either individually or in a pair. I love seeing the excitement in their eyes when I see them learning while they think they are just "playing" on the iPad. It warms my heart as a teacher. My students are enjoying their learning experiences using the iPad. Thank you again for supporting our classroom.”

Funded May 7, 2015Thank you for your generosity in donating to my classroom. My students were so excited about the new writing supplies we received through this project. The new whiteboards are just the right size to use when we do activities on the classroom rug. They are small enough for my students to hold easily while still large enough for them to write on. They make seeing which students understand a concept easier for me. The mini erasers and storage center are the perfect additions to these whiteboards. My students are so excited that each of them now have a whiteboard to use. The composition notebooks allow my students to share their love of writing with each other and me. I love seeing what they decide to write about and how much progress they are making. Thank you again for your donations to our classroom!”

Ready to Read!
Funded May 7, 2015My students LOVE the new nonfiction books that came to our classroom through this project. Nonfiction has always been a hit with my students because they love learning about things that interest them like animals, but they are so excited that they can now read these books themselves during Read to Self time. These new books have improved my students' confidence in their reading and their interest in the books we have in our classroom. The books have given them more choices when they can "check-out" books from our classroom library. It is so exciting to see my students enjoy what they are reading. Thank you for your support!”

Help Us Get Organized!
Funded Jul 21, 2015Thank you so much for your donations to our classroom. My students were so excited when they saw the boxes of new book bins and supply caddies arrive in our classroom. They couldn't wait for me to open the boxes and see what was inside. When they realized they would be getting new book bins to store their books in, they were even more excited. They got to choose which color book bin they would like to use this year which is always exciting. These book bins are so much sturdier than the ones I had purchased in the past. The supply caddies were a wonderful addition to our tables since they helped to organize our community supplies like glue, scissors, and markers. Thank you again for supporting my classroom and students.”

Funded Apr 22, 2015Wow! My kindergarten students have loved learning all about life cycles through this grant. They have been able to watch first hand as we received our caterpillars, they grew and changed into chrysalises, and then became butterflies. They were so amazed to actually watch this change happen right before their eyes. Then we were able to release the caterpillars on our playground and watch them fly away. It has been so wonderful to watch the amazement in my students' eyes. They loved hearing all the books and recreating the life cycles using the pocket charts. This has been such a memorable experience for them. I know they will be talking about it for years to come. Thank you again for your generosity!”
