  • Sensory and Behavior Management Tools

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

Thank you all so much for donating sensory, social emotional and behavior tools to my students. You will never know how much we appreciate them. They are going to be used to help keep our materials organized and easier to manage. This is will help with anxiety that some students experience with not being able to organize subjects, which will lead to helping students get better grades and feel successful. The sensory box has been a major hit. They love all the new sensory tools that will help them to stay calm and give them a place to focus their energy towards.

These items are truly a blessing and will be used on a daily basis. As a teacher, I can't wait to dive into the social emotional curriculum and learning more about Mindfulness. These books are going to really help my students emotional state and be able to complete school work to the best of their ability.

Once again, I thank you all so much for the behavior management tools and social emotional curriculum to help my students achieve their learning goals.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones

  • Essentials to Make Learning Fun

    Funded May 28, 2020

My students are absolutely loving the supplies that you have provided for us this school year. I think their favorites are for sure the colored pins, dry erase boards with colored markers and the Mr. Scent markers. We use all of those material every day in class. They all have their favorite scent and ask me to use those on their classwork and behavior sheets. The composition notebooks have also been a lifesaver. They love getting to write and put their thoughts in a special notebook just for them with fun pens and nicely sharpened pencils. We have been working on the different types of writing styles and types of sentences, so the colored pens have really come in handy. This allows the to visually see the difference. The chart paper and colored chart markers help with this visual aspect of difference transitional words and sentences when writing. This allow what we do in whole group and in small group all connect. Thank you so much for choosing our project to fund. Most of the time it is the little things in life that make the biggest impact. These resources have done just that! When we got our package and opened the boxes, one of my students yelled, "it Christmas at school!" We sincerely thank each one of you for giving. These students don't always get all the things that others do and it was a true blessing to see the smiles on their faces. You have made an impact on them and will continue to be a blessing to this group of kiddos.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jones

Flexible seating would give my students the choice on how they can best learn. My students have behavior and social/emotional needs that we work on daily. My students love to move around and have a very hard time with sitting still. The students in my class tend to work best when given options. The items on my list would allow my students to pick a work area that would best meet their needs. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. When given options of where to sit in the classroom such as under the table, next to my desk, on the floor, and with a clip board, I can see that they are more focused on their work and not so much on moving around. I believe that the items on my list will be great for all ages. I teach grades K-5 and this will give us a great variety of seating. Through research I have found that students with behavior and emotional issues work best when given flexible seating and meeting sensory needs first.
