  • Engaging and Keeping Their Attention

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you for supporting my students and my classroom. During these challenging times trying to keep students excited about learning while social distances has been a hard job. YOU have made it a little bit easier. When the students first saw the many boxes their faces gleamed like a light bulb. The resources were definitely on time as the scholars were needing a class lab activity. They were able to work on battery circuit with the copper tape, battery, and LED lights; their favorite from the resources. However, the science vocabulary used when working on this activity was very impressive. Looking forward to using the other materials throughout the year.”

  • STEMing With Drones

    Funded Oct 6, 2020

Thank you for supporting my classroom with drones and some replacement items. Due to COVID-19 I have had to take extra safety precautions when using the drones. While reviewing for the district assessment the drones are a perfect device we used to relate real world experience. One concept the students used the drones was the forms of energy, commonly called MELTS - mechanical, electrical, light, thermal and sound. Some of the replacement items such as the copper tape, batteries, and light was a great lab activity working on open/closed circuits. All items received will definitely increase engagement and make learning fun.”

  • STEM Kits 2

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you very much for supporting my students and my educational vision. Due to COVID-19 students are not allowed to share for safety reasons. Therefore, this was a fun and exciting project for all. All students both virtual and face to face received the STEM Kit. The virtual parents were asked to come pick up a goodie bag for the students and DON'T give it to the students until they ask for it. The parents did complied with my request. All the girls received the lip balm kits and all the boys received the robotic hand. One virtual student was so excited that once she received her kit she made a lip balm during class and shared it with all during class. These items were a great opportunity to use STEM at its best.”

  • Teacher Mobile Whiteboard Please!!!

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

Thank you for supporting my vision for my students during the pandemic. I am extremely grateful for the whiteboard that assisted me in my daily delivery. Since we started our school year virtually, I had to be ready to service my students from home and I wanted to students to not miss a beat. By having this whiteboard the students were able to see me as I work on problems step by step. I was able to have a mini classroom from home. The students reactions were as if they were in a classroom setting. Thank you again for your assistance for me and making my working from home a great experience.”

  • Virtual Accessories Please

    Funded Nov 30, 2020

Thank you for your generosity. This project has definitely allowed me to be at ease with all the uncertainty that comes with COVID-19. Even though we are doing hybrid I am still giving some virtual instructions from home. To have a home setup for whenever it's needed is a great relief for me. The monitor is a huge asset. It allows me to have students on one screen and to see exactly what they see on this monitor. I no longer need to ask the question am sharing my screen, can you see the video, what do you see now, etc. The wireless keyboard, mouse and document camera are all great items to have to be ready for any uncertainty that may be thrown my way.”

  • Spicing Up a Seasoned Teacher

    Funded Dec 27, 2019

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this funded professional development project which involved traveling by plane and hotel stay was canceled. I made the decision to put my safety above taking a chance. Since I was attending the technology conference ISTE and the drastic shift in education to go viral, I decided to replace my training with technology to keep me connected with my students. This was a great decision on my part due to the many challenges we are facing with devices. Since we are hybrid, I am able to set up my device for my virtual students and use various apps to make my class more fun and engaging.”

  • I Can Hear You Now

    Funded Nov 17, 2020

Thank you for the just in time AirPods, case and charger. Due to uncertainty of pandemic and school situation I am very appreciative that hearing my students will definitely not be an issue. The feature I think I'm enjoying most thus far is the noise blocker. Since I am doing hybrid instruction this is perfect for when I am meeting in a small group or one on one with a student and my face to face are in class working together. I am also able to connect with my virtual students when we are outside the classroom doing an activity to keep them connected. I really appreciate you supporting my educational vision and being able to hear my students always.”

  • Elementary Voting

    Funded Oct 21, 2020

This was definitely a twist to voting. The students were super excited when they saw the items we would be voting on. This was the first in class project since we are doing virtual and face 2 face. All students were included in the activity. The virtual scholars came to the school to pick up their bag of chocolates and gummies to participate. The students were able to learn about voting and relate to the real world Presidential election as well as others on the election ballots. The students created a sign for each chocolates and gummies. After discussing the students decided on which they were voting for. All students voted and the that's how the winners were selected. This was a great introductory activity to get students to understand the voting process. This project was an absolute hit with the students. It was informative, engaging and fun.”

  • Press on While Learning Financial Literacy

    Funded Apr 13, 2020

The heating press had to be replace with other items. The items I selected are items that would have been used with the heating press. The cups will be given as motivation and incentives to increase performance. The students will get a personalized cup for different occasions such as student of the month, hard worker, Imagine Math Leader, and others. We will use the vinyl to make different things for our classroom allowing the students to be creative. All of the items received will no doubt bring joy to the students and spice up the learning with all kinds of incentives.”

I work at a Title 1 funded school. The majority of the students are on free/reduced lunch. More than 3/4 or the students do not have home access to technology. The students come to school every day excited about learning. I want to continue their love of learning through technology and other innovative methods. The students already enjoy using the computer for school related assignments. Having other technology will allow them to work on individualizing their academics. They will be able to explore with a variety of different level apps and many websites.
