  • Making Math & CS Matter

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you very much for helping me obtain these texts via this grant. Last year provided many challenges in education and it became essential to embrace the opportunity as one for growth. In the long periods of isolation during lock-down and remote learning, I had opportunities to use these resources to develop my content knowledge and develop strategies that I could incorporate in my curriculum. Some of these resources are quite lengthy and advanced, and I am certainly in the process of reading them still. They will be invaluable resources for me use for years to come and I am grateful for your contribution to my development as a teacher, and for the indirect betterment of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gianniny

  • Capable Classroom Computer

    Funded Mar 31, 2020

Thank you so much for your contribution to this grant! As I am sure that you are aware, the past year and a half has been such an demanding an abnormal time and adjustments were required to meet the needs of the moment. This computer got a ton of use since you helped me get ahold of it. It has been an essential tool during the pandemic and I cannot imaging having had to do my job without it in that particular climate. The computer allowed me to play my part in remote instruction, and as we move forward with in-person learning, this computer will continue to be vital when interacting with our 3D printer and Virtual Reality programming.

Thank you again for your support. I owe a great part of my success in the past year to you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gianniny

  • Solar Solutions

    Funded Dec 22, 2020

Thank you so much for your support with this project. I am excited that since we are now back in person, we will have the opportunity to begin using the resources that you helped us to procure. This summer, we plan to use the solar generator to power our outdoor projects, and provide an example of renewable energy. Many of the projects that we will pursue center around innovative thinking and problem solving, using various technologies, but also retrofitting and repurposing objects into functional systems designed to fulfill everyday problems.

Thank you for contributing the minds of my students. I appreciate you.”

  • K'Nex to the Engineer Inside!

    Funded Feb 9, 2021

Thank you so much for helping us put together this collection of great collection of toys. Now that we are back in person, my students have started collaborating on a couple of the builds and they have been really enjoying it. I am using it as an opportunity to see how they work together and what strengths, habits, and understandings each student is bringing to the table (literally). We will be taking on some more advanced activities in the next few weeks, such as building computers from parts, and the above observations will be very helpful in developing a sense of how each individual will be most successful.

Thank you for your contribution to this project, once again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gianniny

  • CompTIA Keeps the Bugs Away!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you for your part in making this grant possible. Thanks to you, I have had the opportunity to study several of the texts that we received in full and use that knowledge to improve the health of our organization's IT infrastructure. The last school year was the strangest and most challenging that I can remember, and having the resources that I needed to meet the needs of the moment was priceless.

I very much appreciate your support, which in turn allows me to better support my school community. Thank you very much!”

  • Let's Build a Sound Booth

    Funded Nov 18, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing to our successfully funded project, "Let's Build a Sound Booth." Without your help, it would not have been possible and for that, we greatly appreciate you.

We unboxed the recording equipment and other necessary materials this week. Today, we began constructing the sound booth, as illustrated in the photographs that we uploaded. As you can see, the students are hard at work building their new studio and when it is complete, we look forward to sharing the final results with you!

In the meantime, sit tight and get ready for some fresh beats headed your way soon!”

    Mr. Gianniny

I teach technology at a middle school in downtown Brooklyn, NY. The students who attend our school have all been classified as having "emotional disturbance" or "autism" and generally thrive in a setting with a great deal of structure and routine. My objective is to empower my students to see the opportunities that they are all capable of making for themselves. I also hope to provide the tools that my students need to be as independently successful in areas that are motivating to them. We work to our strengths and build upon our weaknesses to better prepare ourselves for an independent and self-reliant, albeit collaborative future.
