Social Story Supplies & Crafting Needs in Pre-K
Funded Jan 10, 2023Thank you so much for your thoughtful donations of supplies. Many different art projects have been created by the children because of the glitter glue and paint that you have donated to our Early Childhood Special Education severe Autism preschool classroom. In a moderate-severe disability setting, arts and crafts are one of the ways that students who struggle with verbal communication can communicate with others, so these supplies have helped them to do just that. Thank you so much for making a difference in their tiny lives.”

Special Circle Time Chairs Needed
Funded Nov 30, 2022Thank you for your donation to my classroom. You have made a huge difference for the special needs children in the early childhood severe Autism classroom where I taught this year. Appropriate furniture for young children is rarely in the budget for schools and even more so for classrooms serving children with special needs.
Having designated furniture for circle time or read alouds helps with transitions as well as appropriate sitting skills, which are something that we work on with students in the preschool classroom.”

Funded Nov 28, 2022Thank you deeply for your donations to provide sensory supports for my special education preschool SDC (special day) classroom. The new sensory toys have already been a huge hit with the PM preschool group. They enjoyed them so much today when we had recess indoors due to the major storm we are currently experiencing.
We tried on the new noise cancelling headsets in anticipation of the thunderstorms which luckily missed us, but we were prepared if it hadn't.
All of these items are things that were far out of our budget (which was depleted back in August) so thank you for making the impossible possible.”

Painting Station Needed!
Funded Nov 28, 2022This easel was barely out of the box and assembled before it was broken in by not one but three paintings in my afternoon Preschool Severe Autism classroom today. Now those paintings are happily hanging on the built in drying rack. It's a fantastic use of space. One of the things that the paraprofessionals are excited about is that we can wheel this easel out to the playground so that the children can paint outside and then we can wheel their art right back inside the classroom afterwards.
We can't wait to make tons of art using this new easel!”

Funded Sep 7, 2022Thank you so much for your thoughtful donations. I can't describe how exciting it was to roll up the old stained rug and send it on it's way. The new rug is beautiful and helps makes our classroom a much more inviting place.
The library area now has complete rug coverage so students can lay down while looking through their favorite book. It's probably Pete the Cat and his white shoes. It's the perennial favorite in our classroom library.
One of our students loves to hop on it and pretend to be an animal.
Thank you again!”

Funded Sep 21, 2022Thank you deeply for your generous donations that have allowed us to have such a wide selection of chewing oral fidgets for our special education students on the Autism Spectrum. It's been so nice to have a variety available to them rather than just a couple choices.
The new fidget toys have been a big hit as well. Even us adults love walking across the large liquid tiles. They are like a lava lamp for the floor. The students were so excited to play with them when they arrived at school this morning. The other fidgets have been a frequent choice during free choice play.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Funded Aug 14, 2022Students with Autism in a preschool setting have very limited language abilities. Some of my students don't speak at all and only use icons and an app to communicate. Sensory activities are a great way for them to connect with the world. One of the most amazing ways for them to discover things is through hands-on learning.
Since we have gotten the planter box, seeds and soil, we have been able to watch so many little green seedlings emerge from the earth. We have gotten to add seeds into the soil, getting our hands dirty. Not everyone is sure how they felt about it, but it was exciting. This is the kind of life sciences that is perfect for preschoolers and preschoolers with Autism are no different.”

Funded Dec 26, 2021Thank you for your generous donations that allowed me to acquire a wide variety of fidgets for my special education students. There was much excitement when the students saw me open the boxes. I refilled our prize bin with cool and interesting things and several students demonstrated improved behavior immediately.
I was also able to provide fidgets to several different general education teachers so that they could give them to students in need in their classrooms. The donations that you made provided material support to special needs learners.
Thank you for that!”

Scholastic News for Special Education
Funded Jun 15, 2021Thank you so much for your thoughtful donations for my classroom. It is such a treasure to yet again have multiple levels of Scholastic News to use in my kindergarten to 5th grade special education classroom. With the extremely limited time that I have to prepare for the various groups that happen in my classroom each day, scholastic takes alot of the challenges out of that. I can also have access to all the digital materials via ipad app and even share the articles in our google classroom. It makes such a difference to have multiple reading levels because after 15 months of being at home, the reading levels of my students are all over the place. Your generosity has made a big difference in my classroom.”

Mailing Packages During Virtual Learning Requires Stamps!
Funded Mar 20, 2021Thank you so much for helping distance learning to be a little better for my students. With your generous donations, I was able to mail postcards to all my students multiple times as well as packages with sticker reinforcement charts and prizes for their parents to use to help motivate them to participate in zoom lessons and complete assignments. I was also able to send workbooks and other materials to students for extra practice. Since I teach a special education classroom, so much needs to be individualized for my students.
Your donations of stamps helped make it special for my special needs learners.”
