Do You Hear What I Hear? : Class Set Of Headphones Needed!
Funded Oct 7, 2010There are no words to express the gratitude I feel for your donations to my proposal, but I will try. There are so many high school students who have fallen through the cracks because they are considered too old to make up for their lack of learning during their elementary and middle school years. Most of the educational funding is geared toward younger students, and often times, the older kids are left with only their parents and school staff to worry about their academic success. Society has come to regard older students as a lost cause.
Well...I am so happy and relieved that there are still people out there who feel these students deserve a chance by giving them the tools they need to help them in the struggle to overcome their academic obstacles. Since many young people today are visual and audio learners, having a class set of headphones will help these kids and their teachers find a variety of avenues from which they can augment and enhance their skills. It will also help students who are successful and motivated learners create innovative ways with which to present their projects and assignments.
As one of the school librarians, I have made these resources available to teachers in their pursuit to improve teaching and to students in their pursuit to improve their academic success.
In addition to teachers who bring their classes to the library, individual students use the headphones to view audio and video resources to use in multimedia projects. A few merely like to listen to music while they work, so the headphones allow them to do so without disturbing others.
I and the staff and students at this school are extremely appreciative of and grateful for your generosity. Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts.
