  • Guided Expeditions Into New Lands

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

My students have taken adventures and learned many new strategies through this valuable resource. They have used it in small group instruction to delve deeper into reading and how to comprehend what they have read, which is vital when learning to read.

I, as well as my students, are incredibly grateful for your generosity and willingness to fund our project. This resource will reach so many students through out the years as I teach on rotation. It will not only serve my homeroom students, but all the students in my grade level each year. That is approximately 110 students a year. I was able to meet my students where they are at and grow their knowledge. It is such a blessing, thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartzog

  • Paper Books in a Digital Age

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

The books that you helped fund for my students will provide many learning opportunities. I have several students who are ready readers and love Junie B. Jones. I am limited in what I have to offer and this set of books will be in the hands of my students immediately upon arrival.

The second set of readers that are in this project are for my other readers who need a little more support while being able to build those fluency skills and practice their word attack skills. All while reading a good story. The conversations that will come from these texts will indeed be rich and filled with excitement.

I cannot thank you enough for your willingness to help me provide these profound and significant experiences to my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartzog

  • An AppleTV a Day Helps the Children Play!

    Funded May 20, 2020

My class and I are thankful for our Apple TV! This device is set up on a separate projector on a small wall. I can send my students to the TV station to view content if I choose to or send it to them individually.

The initial goal was to be able to assign video content to a small group of students. As I have obtained more experience with the Apple TV, I am able to share the content with all of my students on their iPads.I am able to expand their learning with engaging lessons that expose them to new and exciting experiences because of your generosity!”

  • Cushions for All!

    Funded May 5, 2020

During a professional development I learned about tail bones and how difficult it is for children to sit in comfort on a hard plastic chair because of the way their bodies are made. I was still in the classroom when I created my donors choose project!

Your generosity allows me to provide my students with a way to alleviate the struggle of that hard, plastic chair. They now have a cushion to sit on, making staying on task and maintaining focus possible. They no longer wiggle about in their seats, distracted by trying to find a comfortable way to sit. It has been amazing for my students, they love their new chairs!”

  • Sagacious Centers!

    Funded Jun 27, 2020

During these challenging times I can not thank you enough for your generosity. Your contribution to my classroom allows me to provide a new perspective to my students in reading and math. I am able to upload new ways to explore the content through these digital centers.

With just one click I can send my students on many new adventures. This week they built ice cream cones to represent numbers, took a trip to the desert exploring heat energy, and discovered that the long I sound does not just come from the silent sneaky e! Your contribution made these experiences possible! We can not thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hartzog

  • Teacher's Pay Teacher's Weekly

    Funded May 6, 2020

My students and I are using the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards for our Daily Number Talks, Language Arts PowerPoints and activities, as well as center activities.

The impact in the classroom is profound. I am able to use the number talks digitally and get the students thinking and talking about math strategies before our zoom lesson begins, just like we do in the regular classroom! It allows me to bring some normalcy to our situation. My students also LOVE the language arts PowerPoints! They can hardly contain their excitement when I start one because they know it is going to be fun!

I cannot thank you enough for supporting this project for us, it has made an immeasurable difference in my online instruction!”

  • Fired Up to Learn

    Funded Nov 27, 2019

These Amazon Fire Tablets are an awesome addition to our classroom. They allow my students to work within their reading program and math facts during centers. They are able to strengthen their reading and math facts skills. The increase in skills work has had a direct influence on student output. They are able to apply the phonics skills practiced to their independent and instructional reading, as well as increased the ability to apply addition and subtraction facts to concepts in mathematics. I am very grateful for the addition of the Amazon Fire Tablets to our classroom!”

  • Mac Attack

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

The Mac book has provided much needed technology to our classroom. I've been able to connect it to the projection system and allow students to work on programs in the classroom versus waiting for open computer lab times. The students enjoy learning a different format of technology as well.

With this technological addition to our classroom, my students have an opportunity to view a different operating system. Some relate to it as their parents have an iPhone or iPad in the home, while others had never experienced the format/layout of an apple product. They have all been excited to use the computer and always ask to use the Mac!

Using the Mac book has increased engagement during centers time and productivity in their math and reading skills. It has been an awesome addition to our resources and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity.”

  • Positively Perfect Behavior Incentives!

    Funded Feb 1, 2018

The positive behavior incentives project allowed me to appeal to all of the students in the school, not only affecting the climate change in my classroom, but the school as a whole. They were chosen by the students, for their rewards and that made them all the more special. The students were more willing to maintain excellent behavior because they were working to earn the reward they had chosen. I am very grateful for your generosity in sponsoring this project, it has made an immeasurable impact on our students and the climate of our school.”

    With gratitude,

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness in helping me better serve my students. You have made it possible for me to expand my knowledge base and explore new strategies. This will enable me to provide more engaging lessons and share with new teachers as well. Thank you again!”

I teach in a Title I school where 100% of the school is on free lunch. My students live in a high poverty area. Access to literacy begins and ends within the school walls. There are many things they will never be able to experience in real life that a book can offer. Please help me expose them to as many experiences as I can.
