    Funded Oct 21, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting more flexible seating choices in our classroom. All of our students were so excited to hear this project was funded and cheered for more flexible seating choices. You made their day. I already know these chairs are going to be very well loved in our class.”

  • Diverse Graphic Novels and Picture Books

    Funded Oct 27, 2023

These graphic novels have brought so much joy to all of our students. They love the new graphic novel series and they have been busy recommending graphic novels to each other to read. I have noticed such an increase in reading excitement and engagement in reading lessons. Students love the books so much they have requested many of these graphic novels on their Christmas lists to their parents, so they are able to read at home. I just love that students are choosing books to put on their Christmas lists, and it is because of your generosity to help fund these books in our class. Thank you for all of your support.”

  • Graphic Novels That Represent Us!

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

My students love the new graphic novels. They were very excited kids when they saw the books for the first time. They were so excited they actually requested if we could cancel class for the day and just read. Of course, that couldn't happen, but they then requested if they could come and read during their recess time. Many kids showed up during their recess just to read the new books. It was so great to see a group of kids so excited about reading that they were willing to give up one of their favorite times of the day to read.

Thank you for exciting struggling readers about reading. They benefit so much from rich and engaging literature in our classroom.”

  • Whiteboard Tables for Engaging Student Collaboration

    Funded Sep 29, 2023

These whiteboard tables have made such a difference in student collaboration in our classroom. Students are able to use the whiteboard surface to show their work and then explain their thinking process to other students while editing their work at ease on the table as they go. In addition, it has promoted new math games and more challenging story problems with increased student engagement and collaboration. The tables have also been great for first graders who need a work area at close proximity at the front of the classroom. By the first graders having a writing surface directly on their table, it has allowed them to problem solve tricky problems without having to juggle for mini whiteboards and other materials.”

  • Supplies for Class Environment and Organization

    Funded Sep 29, 2023

These resources have made our classroom a fun and organized place for our students. The students love the star lamps and the cloud lights and love the feel of the classroom. They find the decorations calming and cute and love the new theme. They love to come to Title 1 and the new decor has certainly helped make them feel proud and excited about being in this class.

The organizational bins and file cabinet materials have made it much easier for students to access their reading materials, student growth data, and other materials they need for class. It has made their learning more efficient and has made them more independent since they are now in charge of locating supplies and doing goal setting independently. Thank you for your continued support for our class.”

  • Flexible Seating for Self-Advocacy

    Funded Sep 29, 2023

My students absolutely love these new rocking chairs as part of their flexible seat options. They brag about how comfortable they are and how nice it has been to get to rock in a chair when they feel the need to move during instruction. They like them so much that at times they wish they had more in the classroom. They have also done a great job sharing the chairs and making sure everyone has an opportunity to use them.

These flexible seats have really helped the learning environment and have given students more opportunities to advocate for themselves when it comes to their needs as learners with individual needs. Thank you for supporting student advocacy in our class.”

  • A Cozy Calming Corner for Our Class, to Promote Self-Advocacy

    Funded Sep 29, 2023

I've never seen a group so excited over an area in my classroom until they saw the finished put together project of the "Cozy Cave". My students were beyond excited when they saw the new calming corner in the classroom. We practiced the procedures of using the Cozy Cave, went over the expectations of one student at a time, choosing a calming strategy, setting a timer for 5 minutes or less, and cleaning up the area and going back to learning as soon as the timer goes off. They are so gentle and careful with their little area and were blown away by the fun theme and lights. Thank you so much for making this project a possibility. It will make a huge difference in giving our kids an opportunity to using self-regulation skills when they are frustrated.”

  • Supplies to Support Classroom Routines

    Funded Sep 29, 2023

This project has made a huge difference in creating efficient and quick classroom routines and procedures in our classroom. My students are now easily able to check in to their flexible seating choices that they are picking for the class period and easily look at the magnetic board at the front of the classroom to determine what items they are going to need for each different class. It takes my 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders less than two minutes to locate all of their supplies, choose their chair and be ready to learn with the aid of these resources. My students are going to highly benefit from these quick routines and it maximizes their learning time in our class. Thank you for your supporting in helping make this project possible.”

  • Diverse Picture Books That Represent Us!

    Funded Sep 29, 2023

My students saw these books for the first time yesterday when they walked into our classroom for their small groups. Their first response was "Can we just read the new books today?" It was very exciting that they were so excited to browse the new titles and interact with the new books.

My students did finish their reading lessons in our reading curriculum early and did have a few minutes to explore the new books in our classroom library. They were so engaged in the illustrations, texts, and they were so curious about the characters and people the books were about. Thank you for making reading an exciting experience for our students.”

My classroom is a grade 3-5 Title 1 classroom. My students are hardworking kids who are really close to meeting grade level standards but need a little extra support to get them there. My students are such creative, resilient, and hard working who try their best every day. My students are capable of so much but learn concepts in ways that are different from the norm. They thrive with visuals, hands on materials, and project based learning. As a teacher it is my goal to provide them with a vibrant engaging classroom environment where my kids feel safe, capable, and engaged in learning.
