The number one reason my classroom would benefit from an iPad Pro is grading. Grading a student's paper with quality feedback and modeling of proper grammar usage is difficult and time consuming on a standard computer. By the time I move my cursor, type one comment, and save it, I could have already graded an entire page using the iPad Pro and Pencil. With an iPad Pro, I will be able to digitally write directly on my students' essays and offer them meaningful feedback in a timely manner. I will be able to use the iPad Pencil to write-in feedback that I would normally give if I were in the classroom rather than teaching by distance. I will be able to model correct grammar and MLA expectations while also writing positive feedback or critiques. Then, my students will receive my comments, make edits to their essays, and store their work in a digital portfolio. All of my students plan to go to college, so constructive feedback on their writing is essential. I believe in learning through practicing, so my students write literary analysis essays, research papers, and narratives on a regular basis. Then, they use the feedback I provide to edit and perfect their work. Once I have returned to the classroom, the iPad Pro will continue to be useful. I will still be able to offer quality digital feedback, but I will also be able to save the notes I take with the iPad and share it with students who need extra support or with those who were absent. Additionally, I will be able to become more mobile in the classroom! Multitasking will become easier as I will be able to facilitate instructions through the iPad and simultaneously give one-on-one personalized help to students.
