I am a science teacher at a public high school serving over 2000 students. My students come to my class with diverse backgrounds and varying degrees of interest in science. It can be challenging at times to reach out to different learning styles; however, through the use of visuals and hands-on learning materials, students can realize that science is more than just a subject for nerds. It's a subject that is connected to and is influenced by their daily lives. It is my goal to encourage my students to become interested in science as well as to help students develop the knowledge and skills that they will need to not only enter college but to also get through college and beyond.
