Sorting Colors and Shapes and Sizes Oh My!
Funded Nov 15, 2021First, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to our project. My children were so excited when our delivery came, they could hardly wait to see what was inside. They were thrilled when they saw all the sorting and shape manipulatives.
The children are constantly using all the materials to practice the skills that we are learning each day. The children sorted "people" by size, shape, and color during our All About Me unit. They also used the cars to count and make patterns during our Transportation Unit. I can't wait to see how they use the counters for our upcoming units.
You helped provide so many opportunities for my children to practice and share what they are learning each day. My children are expanding their vocabulary every day as they explain to myself or their friends what they are counting or sorting and why.
Just remember, because of your generosity and support you help us "Practice Sorting Colors and Shapes and Sizes" everyday.”

Funded Nov 15, 2021First, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to our project. My children were so thrilled to see so many hands on learning manipulatives. They were so excited, they could not wait for the boxes to be unpacked.
The children are using all the materials to build and create on their own or with a friend. It is amazing to watch how they create. I am constantly hearing, "Look what I made, it's a telescope", or " a castle", or "a spaceship". The possibilities are endless. The vocabulary they are using is astounding.
You helped provide so many opportunities for learning and sharing of thoughts and creativity. It is wonderful to see their expressions as they explain to their friend and any adult that walks in our room, what their creation does or how it can be used.
Just remember, because of your generosity and support you helped us "Replenish Our Resources", during a very trying time.”

Funded May 29, 2021First, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to our project. My children were so excited to see their very own at home learning kits with materials to help them beat the summer slide. They were so excited, they were actually looking forward to doing work over the summer.
The children were able to use all the materials to practice the skills that we had learned during the school year. The children received number cards for counting and a journal to write their thoughts and feelings to name just a few. Parents have told me that their children were so excited to share everything with them.
You helped provide so many opportunities for learning and sharing what they have learned during the school year with their families, because of these at home learning kits.
Just remember, because of your generosity and support you helped us "Hopefully Prevent the Dreaded Summer Slide".”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Kramer

Funded May 12, 2021First, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to our project. Now that winter is on its way, we can expect maybe a snow day or 2. My children will certainly be prepared to work at home with their pencils and crayons and paper to name a few of the items you gifted us with. When they saw all the materials they would be taking home, they were actually looking forward to a snow day even if they have to work from home.
The children will use all the materials to practice the skills that we will work on during the snow day at home. They will be able to practice their letters on their wipe-off boards and draw a picture of their favorite snow day activity using their paper and crayons. Our parents are excited as well since their children will be prepared to work at home without them having to supply any materials.
No matter what the winter brings, because of your generosity and support we know that "Snow Days Will Still Be Fun."”

Funded Apr 7, 2021First, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to our project. My children were so exited to see their very own at home learning kits. When they saw all the materials inside their bags they were actually looking forward to a day to work from home.
As of now, we have not had to go remote which is a good thing, but we still are making good use of our at home learning kits. The children use all the materials to practice the skills that we have learned during the day in school. Parents have told me that their children can not wait to show and tell them everything they learned that day.
There are so many opportunities for learning and sharing what they have learned in school with their family, because of these at home learning kits.
No matter what the rest of the year brings, because of your generosity and support we are "Prepared For At Home Learning".”

Funded Aug 20, 2020Thank you so very much for your generous donation of supplies for my students. It was especially thoughtful during this time when our learning in Pre K looks so different due to our Blended Learning Model.
Due to your incredible donation, I was able to give my students the supplies they need to be able to participate in all the activities we do together or apart. Whether the children are learning together during our Meets or working independently on assignments, they have paper, pencils, crayons and all the tools they need in their handy dandy toolkits that were made possible because of your generosity.
My students were told from the very beginning that they needed to keep their supplies in a safe place so they would have them available when needed. On our next Meet, they all told me where they were keeping them and had all their supplies with them ready to start their day. I let them know that some very KIND and THOUGHTFUL people wanted them to be able to learn during one of the toughest school years I hope they never ever have to face again.”

Funded May 20, 2020I am so very grateful for your generous donation that gave more variety to my Math lessons for my students. During Distance Learning, I tried to make addition and subtraction lessons that were as engaging as possible but something was missing. I kept having to use the same manipulatives to model our lessons. Your donation of new manipulatives was the key to better engagement.
After I started using the new manipulatives, parents were commenting that the children couldn't wait to log into our Google Classroom to see what their new lesson would be. They loved seeing the "ants at the picnic" and were so excited to show me drawings of their own Math stories after I modeled mine for them. Our Math stories and problems became more engaging and exciting due to your donation. It was wonderful to see how using new manipulatives brought out more creativity in my students because I was able to model more creatively. During our time together on Google Meets, after reading a story together, the children would ask, "Can we use the ants or spiders or flowers or apples to tell a story?" Oh my goodness, they wanted to add and subtract, how could I say "No"?
My children will be moving on to Kindergarten, but I know that you have helped to secure their love of learning and I know that they will be more creative in their math thinking and for this I am truly grateful!”

Funded May 20, 2020Thank you so very much for your generous donation of books. It was especially thoughtful during this time when our learning in Pre K looked so different due to Distance Learning.
During our time together on Google Meets, I would read a book to my students, just like we did when we were all together in our classroom (well almost). This kept a bit of normalcy to our routine in a time that was anything but normal. My children loved listening to our new books, I have to be honest, although repitition is good for them at this age, my children were getting a bit tired of hearing the same book over and over again, even if I tried different voices. Your generous donation kept them more engaged and looking forward to what new book they would see next. They were so happy to share their favorite parts and draw pictures to show their friends. The interaction was so fun to see.
My students will now be moving on to Kindergarten but they know of your generosity and they will always remember the KIND people who helped them during one of the toughest school years I hope they ever have to face.”

Funded Aug 30, 2012I continue to marvel at your generosity every time the mail comes with the Time for Kids and Scholastic Weekly Readers. The children gather around my table to see what they are about. I have to hide them until we are ready to use them.
The children are getting to that point in their reading skills where some of them can read the entire magazines by themselves. It is truly amazing. These magazines coordinate beautifully with our themes. In fact, just today we received one on baby animals, guess what our theme is? Exactly, animals. The big size and the posters are great additions to our classroom. The children argue over who is going to get to read. Instead of being upset I am delighted because they are so excited about reading and the current events they are learning from these magazines.
Again, I truly thank you for giving my children the opportunity to experience these magazines at this stage of their development. It is great to watch. Thank you again for your great kindness in helping my children to learn without even realizing it.”

Funded Dec 23, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donation of Math Journals for my Kindergarten class. They were so excited to have beautiful new books to use. Our Math program involves the use of many manipulatives and group activities. These Journals are just what was needed to record our findings. Before our Math Journals, we would use paper and keep them in folders. That would sometimes result in lost papers. With our Math Journals, all the work produced by the children is right where we can find it. They absolutely love it when I say it's time to work in our Math Journals. They love working in groups and working by themselves to show what they learned. Using these Math Journals has certainly boosted their confidence in Math, they are able to show and tell exactly what they know and I am able to see exactly where they need help. I thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your generous and most useful gift. ”
