  • Tie-Dyed Service

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

Thank you for supporting our students! Nearly half of my 60 5th grade students chose to participate in our after school tie dye club.

First we researched types of patterns. Then we learned how to tie, dye, and rinse our items. When we finished, we made signs to advertise our tie dye sale during the Math and Science Night.

Students raised $237 that night. The money was given to a local organization: Roswell Community Disaster Relief which supports people impacted by homelessness and disasters. In fact, about the time we started, our community experienced a "once in a century" flood. Over 1000 homes were impacted or destroyed—including at least one of our club members.

We still have many items to sell. And, all of our 5th graders will be tie dying our shirts for graduation in May.

Thank you for helping us learn this skill and help our community.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Donahue

  • Welcome To The Renaissance

    Funded Dec 15, 2024

Thank you for your support for my project! My students have enjoyed the Renaissance unit, but they will love it even more! I am so excited to bring this unit to life for my students. Your generosity is appreciated. Thanks for believing in me and my students. Welcome to the Renaissance!!”

Because of your support, my 5th graders will have access to a fantastic new selection of books that will inspire their love for reading and enhance their learning. Your kindness is making a real difference in their education, and we are incredibly grateful.

  • Fresh Start

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you for providing essentials for my classroom! My students love sitting on floor (or a pillow) and using the lap trays to do their work. Thanks for allowing me to offer this to more students. You have no idea how many items in my classroom need batteries! Thanks to your gift, I can power them all up!

Thank you for making my students a priority. Thank you for making my job just a little bit easier. Your generosity is so appreciated. Every time my students use the lap trays, they remember that a stranger somewhere cared enough to give to our classroom.”

  • Starting Off the New Year with Supplies

    Funded Jun 6, 2024

Thank you for helping me start the school year off well! Over the summer, I was able to fill each pencil box with an assortment of tools including pencils, highlighters, and dry erase markers.

The pencils (I never have enough pencils!!) are a huge help! The various sizes sticky notes are a huge help.

Many of my parents are not able to provide basic school supplies, and this gives me a chance to make sure they have what they need.

Thank you for investing in the lives of my students. Your gift helps make”

  • Tie-Dye for All

    Funded May 14, 2024

Thank you for supporting my students! I have always loved tie dye, and my students often see me in tie dye. They were thrilled with the opportunity to make their own shirts (and other items!).

We worked hard during the school year, and we learned about many different art periods. My students were fascinated with the art of the early American civilizations (Maya, Aztec, and Incas). Later we learned about the Renaissance. They had the chance to carve sculptors out of soap, put their own spin on Mona Lisa, and even create art lying on their backs like Michelangelo.

The tie dye project gave them a chance to create their own works of art.”

  • Warm, Fed, and Healthy

    Funded Jan 9, 2024

Thank you for your support! With this project, I was able to add to my options of snacks for students who are not able to eat the mostly carbohydrate-based snacks I had in my room. Nuts, olives, meat sticks, and more gave options that did not require refrigeration.

I was also able to restock the emergency supply drawers that my daughter gave me. Now I have deodorant (5th-grade boys in spring!!), toothbrushes, and pads.

I shared some snacks, as well as many of the hygiene items, with our school nurse as many students visit her needing support.”

  • Moving and Learning Part 3

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

Thank you for your support!! I was able to add more laptop risers and folding floor trays to my classroom—thanks to your support. My 4 classes (72 students) of 5th-grade students get tired of sitting at desks all day long. These alternative sitting/standing options make it possible for most of my class to learn in a way that is comfortable for them.

My students are better able to concentrate and focus on their work when they have the opportunity to be comfortable.

Thank you for supporting my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Donahue
