Book Binder for Young Authors
Funded Dec 12, 2017Thank you so much for choosing to donate to my classroom! My students love our book binder. Honestly, when we first opened the package, they had no idea what it was! However, after school, I was able to bind some of the books they had written and left them on their desks. When they came in the next day, they were so excited to see their writing in an actual book. This is encouraging them to write more frequently and to try to make something other students would like to read.
The binder has also found other uses in our school. Teachers are able to bind materials for students, such as early finisher books or guided reading materials. This is very exciting for the kids, who love having a finished book in their desks to work on. It's also helpful for us as teachers because the materials we need are easy to access and distribute to the students.
Thank you again for your donation! The students have never been more excited to create their own books, and I love seeing their creativity come to life.”

Ms. Padilla
We Need Characters Who Look Like Us!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for donating to this project! My students love to read, and they will be so excited to see books with diverse characters who actually look like them. This is a big opportunity to keep them invested in reading. Thank you so much for your generosity. I can't wait to see the students' faces when they open the boxes of books!”

Funded Nov 16, 2017Thank you for choosing to support our classroom! My students were so excited when our packages arrived. My bus riders especially were very happy to receive rain jackets and umbrellas for rainy days at the bus stop. Some of the students were able to share some materials with younger brothers and sisters at our school, so that they are able to stay dry during wet days as well.
Having breakfast boxes in the classroom has been an amazing way to start the morning. The children who are late and miss school breakfast are able to come to class, grab something to eat, and get started right away. Nobody has to be hungry in the mornings and we can start our day quickly and calmly without worrying about finding something to eat.
These two seemingly small things have made a big impact on my class. The kids have more time and energy to focus on their education, which is really the most important thing for them. Thank you for your donation, which has made this possible for them!”

What's a Teacher Without a Printer?
Funded Oct 23, 2017Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom! Trying to teach without having a working printer is next to impossible. Educators need to be able to print worksheets, decorations, and books for the kids and the classroom, so this printer is very important to me and my students.
Although my students do not get to use the actual printer, they are able to see the benefits of having it in our classroom. They are excited to be able to read books with color pictures in them, and they love having the walls decorated with printed superheroes and colorful posters.
Thank you again for your donation! My students are excited to have a colorful classroom where they can learn.”

Recess After Hurricane Irma
Funded Nov 6, 2017Thank you so much for making our recess FUN! When the boxes first arrived with the toys and materials inside, the kids were so excited. They were stacked to the top of the door! When we opened them the students couldn't wait to play. Some even tried to throw the frisbees in the classroom!
All of the students in the school are able to play at recess using these materials. When we go outside, there are students jump roping, playing basketball, or hula hooping all over the lawn. They love being able to play, and even the youngest students told me how thankful they are to have something to play with at recess.
These kids work hard in school and deserve to have a fun, healthy play time at recess. Thank you for making this possible for them! They are so excited to have fun with their friends now.”

Growing Our Library And Readers!
Funded Feb 28, 2017My students love to read books, but I want to make sure they are able to find books that interest them. Thanks to our classroom book bins, the students are able to find books by topic and read about things they are interested in. They love the colors of the bins, especially with how they fit into our superhero-themed classroom!
Our school is still putting the finishing touches on our school-wide library, and until it is finished, the only books that my students can check out and take home are the ones from our classroom library. Thanks to our book bins, our library books are organized and easily accessible. The students are able to take ownership of their library and understand where the books belong when they finish them.
Thank you so much for your donation! We appreciate the book bins so much. They are sturdy and they look nice in our classroom library (please see our pictures!). Thank you for helping to make our school days brighter!”

TOON Books for 2nd Grade
Funded Dec 31, 2016Once again, I want to thank you for your generosity. My kids are extremely eager to learn and grow, and your donation is helping to make it possible.
My kids absolutely love the TOON Books! The day they arrived, they were so excited to open the box and see them. I can't keep them in the library! Since the books are written like comic books, the students love to read them, but several of the books also have really great morals and lessons. The best part is that the books are leveled. When the kids want to take a book, they can check the level to make sure that they are getting a book at their skill level. This is really helpful for preventing frustration with books that are too difficult.
Thank you again for this wonderful gift you've given to my students! We are incredibly grateful, and you are helping to make reading fun for our class!”

Ms. Padilla

Funded Oct 10, 2016Wow! I couldn't say thank you enough for your generosity. Learning can be so frustrating without the right supplies, and your donation is helping ensure that my students have what they need to be successful in class.
My students were so incredibly excited to find out that this project was funded. Every time a box was delivered, they would come in asking, "Is it from Chevron?" They loved opening the packages to see what new materials we would be adding to our room!
We use the supplies that you've given us daily in the classroom. From pencils (for completing assignments) to dry erase markers (for practicing our math facts!) to whisper phones (to hear ourselves during reading) to reading games, worksheets, paper, and more, the items you provided for us are helping students learn and accomplish more every single day.
Thank you again for your kindness. We love Chevron for everything you do for students!”

Bringing Words to Life!
Funded Oct 20, 2015Wow! Thank you so much for the kind donation to my classroom. My students loved having the die cut machine in the room. While they aren't allowed to use the machine itself, they loved having the letters, numbers, and pictures to manipulate in class.
We use the machine for several activities in class, as well as to decorate the room. We cut out shapes to use for our space-themed data tracker, and the kids loved seeing their stars and rockets change as they grew in reading. They also loved using the numbers to manipulate math problems in the room.
Thank you again for your generosity to my students. The love and appreciate the gift, and many classes will be able to enjoy it for years to come.”

Beginning First Grade!
Funded Oct 27, 2015Thank you thank you thank you for helping out my classroom! My students loved having the new books and sharpener to use in the classroom. We had a great time opening the packages, and the students were so excited to be able to sharpen their pencils in our classroom.
We loved having the new books and the Lorax toy. The Lorax was our surprise visitor on Earth Day, and we read the book together as a class. We had just finished taking a field trip to see animals, so it was a great experience to come back and learn about how we could help the Earth and the animals in it.
Thank you again for your gift! It has had a great impact on my students this year.”
