  • 2022-2023 Hygiene Kits

    Funded Sep 30, 2022

    My students have been able to use these kits throughout the school year to help teach proper hygiene. A clean pair of socks, tooth brush and tooth paste, deodorant and hair product can save a student from a crisis. Many middle school students struggle with meeting their hygiene needs which can cause insecurities, bullying, and health issues. The kits along with hygiene education have assisted in bullying prevention amongst all grades. We are very appreciative and grateful for your contribution that has meet the needs for our students to feel comfortable, safe and engaged in class.”

  • SEL through Play Therapy

    Thank you so much for your contributions. Our students are looking forward to further access social emotional learning through play therapy. I look forward to providing our students with these new materials yo support them through managing their emotions and crisis.   • Safe Space for Teens

    Thank you for your contributions this past school year. Our students were able to have a clean, safe and comfortable space to retreat to during a busy day. Our students looked forward to short breaks in my office and expressed feeling safe to discuss difficult topics. Returning to inperson learning was challenging enough so it was essential to make our spaces clean and sanitized using the supplies requested.

Our students have returned with an increased need for mental health support as the pandemic has caused stressors in many aspects of their lives. As the new school social worker my goal is to implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques through support groups and one to one counseling. The books I have selected will assist me in guiding our middle schoolers through fun and engaging activities that will create positive behavior changes in school and out in the world. The classroom supply will allow me to keep a safe, clean and organized space for our students. By donating to my project, you will not only help improve student mental health support, you will ultimately help to create a safe and engaging learning environment.

About my class
