Students will use newsprint tablets, pencils, charcoal and erasers to practice skills for still life and portrait drawing. I also plan to invite a local portrait artist to a virtual meet to inspire student work. When students have quality supplies available at home for a virtual drawing elective, they will be far more engaged and prepared to learn. In short, practicing with quality supplies and meeting with a local working artist will create a unique opportunity for our middle school students to see art as relevant and valuable to our lives.
