  • Exploring the World through Virtual Reality!

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

Since introducing the Oculus device in the classroom, many students are more excited to approach difficult science concepts. Due to the immersive nature of VR, it has captured the attention of many students in class. Concepts that seem abstract or distant have come to life, giving students a more concrete understanding of the information.

VR also allows for students to visualize and interact with complex scientific concepts in 3-D space. Whether exploring chemical reactions or exploring geological formation firsthand, students can grasp concepts more intuitively.

I have witnessed firsthand the transformation in my students' attitudes and aptitude toward science since incorporating the Oculus device into our lessons. They are more motivated, more eager to explore, and more confident in their understanding of scientific principles.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Evans

  • Fresh Start for a New Year!

    Funded Jul 20, 2023

Thank you for your generous donations to my students and classroom. The resources that you help provide made our year a success with student notebooks that provided models and an interactive way of learning. We will continue to use them and help students make connects to the world around them.

Our notebooks helped students with challenging concepts like Kepler's Laws of motion in space, nuclear fusion and element formation in stars, crystal formation of minerals, weathering, erosion, deposition, and tectonic plate movement (to name a few). Thank you for your support!”

  • Measuring Mass with Triple Beam Scales!

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation to our students! We really value hands on learning and thanks to you, our students will have the opportunity to practice measuring mass and density! Anyone can use an electronic scale, but where is the fun in that?! Our students will be thrilled to have scales to work with for future assignments and labs!”

  • Lab Equipment for Hands on Learning!

    Funded Aug 18, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom! Our standards recently changed to include that 50% of instruction must be hands on learning activities and labs. Our science department was lacking basic classroom lab materials which made it hard to accomplish this goal.

With your donation, we were able to complete several labs and activities that would not have been possible without your help and support. Our students really enjoyed the types of rock and mineral samples. With those we were able to complete several hands on labs that included identifying and testing their properties!

We truly appreciate your contribution to our classroom and will be using these lab materials for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Evans

  • "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" Novel Study

    Funded May 6, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. I always try to incorporate cross curricular activities in my science classroom to help students make connections and for them to see that science is not a stand alone subject but it is everywhere that we look and is a daily part of our lives.

During our semester, I will use novel studies as a supplement to our current science learning standards. Students really enjoyed this book and didn't realize that the man is still living and there was a moving made about it too! Which we also squeezed in!

These opportunities for students to make connections would not have been possible without your help and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Evans

  • Forensic Science Investigations!

    Funded Aug 31, 2022

Thank you for your continued support of my class and its sometimes crazy projects! Forensic Science is one of those cool classes where you can do so many fun projects and hands-on activities. The investigations have allowed us to explore and analyze blood spatter, extract DNA, analyze fingerprints, and conduct fetal pig dissections! We also have several case studies that students like to work through and analyze all the evidence like they are conducting an investigation.

I love to keep our class working towards bigger and better things and forensics is a course that you often hear students mention that they want to take when they can. Thank you for helping support my classroom and students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Evans
