Playtime Equals Learning Time!
Funded Aug 28, 2021Thank you so much for your donations to my class!! Working with Autistic children has shown me that everything can be taught, including play. My students love playing with the dolls and all the accessories. They were so excited when the dolls arrived and could not wait to complete their work so they could play with them. They love to pretend to feed them and bathe them. We put them to sleep in the afternoon and wake them up in the morning. It is amazing to see how gentle they can be with the baby dolls.”

Learning Through Art
Funded Jul 11, 2021Thank you so much for helping me with my project, Learning Through Art!! We are having so much fun this year learning through art!
So far this school year we have completed an All About Me Unit and a parent and child project using our Lakeshore All About Me posters. We made our faces during the literacy week of my senses using the collage materials. We have also used the paint, brushes and paper to work on daily letter activities with different mediums.
The art supplies you have provided will help me teach my students while we continue to use colorful, fun filled and hands on experiences while they are learning.”

Making Kindergarten Fun
Funded Aug 13, 2021Wow!! Thank you so much to all of my donors!! I am using the gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers as needed to buy ready made lessons for my class. It is amazing to not have to think of my finances as I look at the activities on this amazing website.
This year we are starting a new reading book and we have not received them yet. I have already purchased a few of the units so that we do not get behind on the material. In the future I use these lessons for homework to reinforce the learning in the classroom.
Since my students are on the Autism Spectrum I need lessons that are designed on different levels. Many of the lessons on Teachers pay Teachers can be printed for the different academic levels in my class.
Thank you again for the gift cards!”

Funded Nov 20, 2020Thank you so much for your donation of gift certificates for Teachers Pay Teachers. I was able to use the gift certificates for access to Boom Cards and to purchase ready-made worksheets.
Boom cards are ready-made interactive lessons that I am using to help my students learn and show mastery of these lessons. My students love the interactive activities and I love that the Boom Cards are allowing my students to access their curriculum while continuing to learn remotely.
The Teachers Pay Teachers website has allowed me to purchase lessons and worksheets that are ready-made so that I may spend more time on-line with my students. They are performing better than anyone would have thought and they are so happy when they see me even if it is on a computer screen.”

Playtime is Learning Time
Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for helping my students learn to play. Learning to play leads to learning academics especially in children with Autism. Children need to be given the chance to understand how to share toys in order to understand how to share time. Having more social leisure activities is allowing my students to have more opportunities to learn appropriate sharing.
The play kitchen has been the biggest hit and my students love to 'cook' for each other. The table and chairs is always being used by someone. The children are enjoying learning the different sounds animals make using the barn.
Again thank you for helping my students learn to play!”

Help Us Take A Seat!
Funded Oct 21, 2016I can't fully express my excitement and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching my very special children. I am so excited that I have been able to develop my students' futures and educations. First Grade can be a difficult and confusing time for all students but for students with Autism everything is difficult and confusing. By allowing them to have a sensory outlet they have been able to better adjust to their surroundings and stay seated to learn. Sensory integration allows children with Autism succeed because it allows them to calm the input around them. Our wobble chairs and wiggle cushions have allowed my students to stay seated longer while allowing them still get the movement they need to learn.”

Developing The Futures Of Children With Autism
Funded Dec 8, 2015I can't fully express my excitement and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching my very special children. I am so excited that I have been able to begin to develop my students' futures. Kindergarten is a difficult time time for all students but for students with Autism everything is confusing. By allowing them to have a sensory outlet they have been able to better adjust to their surroundings. Sensory integration allows children with Autism succeed because it allows them to calm the input around them.
I use these materials during our inside time social time. I find that when the students are engaged in a sensory activity they play better together. After working with our senses my students are better able to concentrate during the school day.”

Funded Dec 26, 2013Thank you so much for the items you have funded. My students are the children that no one talks about because they do not participate in normal state testing. They will never learn to read and write or even learn to talk and most will not walk.
Using the items you have funded has helped with their ability to listen to and respond to stories. All of my students work with me individually to suit their individual needs. While working with them I have seen more smiles and more laughter than before because they are able to see and touch items in the stories. They now love story time and light up when we start that portion of our school day. It is highlight of my day!
Again thank you for your help.”

Using the items you have funded has helped with their ability to communicate, not with words but with devices. All of my students work with me individually to suit their individual needs. While working with them I have seen more smiles and more laughter than before because we are able to understand how and what they are commiunicating. Their ability to communicate in any form gives them some power over their lives. It is highlight of my day!
