  • More Books, Please!

    Funded Sep 10, 2023

I cannot thank you enough for your support of our classroom through this project. The new books have been added to our classroom library and are being thoroughly enjoyed by my students. I am so grateful that I have been able to add new titles to my collection, so that every student is able to find a topic that interests them. Whether they are reading a fiction or nonfiction book, a graphic novel or a chapter book, every student has found something they are able to connect with. Students are also able to see themselves within the variety of titles in our library, as well as be exposed to people who may not look the same as them.

We use these books daily, and especially in our daily reading stations. Students are able to choose from the books in our classroom library and read them independently or with a partner. I am highlighting certain books in whole-class read alouds as well.

We are so blessed to have these new books in our classroom collection. Thank you for helping to make this project possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stepp

  • Morning Choice: Start Your Day With a Smile

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

Thank you for your generosity in helping me fund this project for my classroom. We are absolutely loving morning choice in third grade! For at least fifteen minutes every morning, students are spending time engaged in social interactions with their classmates, and creating lasting friendships. All of the morning choice activities are hands-on, and, oh yeah... fun! It truly has made such a positive impact on my classroom environment.

With your help, we were able to purchase a variety of puzzles, board games, art supplies, and STEM supplies for my students to choose from each morning. The smiles on their faces say it all! We are having a blast and learning so much.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support of my classroom. You are making a difference in the lives of my students for many years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stepp

  • Making Magic in 2nd Grade

    Funded Dec 31, 2018

Because of your generosity, I had the great privilege to attend the 2019 Get Your Teach On National Conference this summer, and man! What an incredible experience it was! No words can describe the electric energy I felt for four days while being surrounded by 4,200+ passionate educators. This experience was unlike any other, and it is something I will cherish forever.

I learned so many great things at this conference. My "golden nugget" takeaways were:

#1: Relationships First - Nothing can replace the bonds you build with your students. They will always remember how you made them feel versus any assignment you could ever give them.

#2: Be the Wild Card - Don't be afraid to take risks. Be the teacher who stirs things up and makes everyone else a little uncomfortable. If it's going to make a difference in the lives of your students, go for it! You are the just the magic maker that your students need. Be a wave maker! A world changer!

In addition to these suggest of wisdom, I also learned many content applicable strategies across all subject areas, and left with a toolbox full of resources to help make this year a success. One thing I am particularly excited to implement is morning choice. Through morning choice activities, my students will be able to pick a fun station to do after breakfast each day (art, technology, STEAM, board games, etc.) and spend time building relationships with their classmates. I can't wait to take my classroom community to the next level!

It is with a humble, overflowing heart that I thank you once again for your support of me and my students. I'm looking forward to a fantastic year in third grade!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Stepp

I'm Jessica Stepp, and I teach 4th grade at Clearfield Elementary. We are a Title 1 school in Eastern Kentucky. I love being a teacher because as cliche as it sounds, I really do love making a difference for future generations. My mission is to create a safe, caring environment where every student feels loved, encouraged, and empowered. Teaching is one of the most challenging professions, but also the most rewarding.
