  • P.E. Equipment

    Funded May 6, 2020

As of yet, unfortunately, we have yet to use these wonderful resources. As much as I wish we could have put them to use, our current circumstances have prevented such things from happening.

However, when we do return to the classroom, I am positive that your donation and help with this project will be very much appreciated by my students, as much, if not more than they are by me. After the long period of isolation and lack of physical activity for some, the resources will prove especially helpful. I truly cannot wait until we get the opportunity to use all of the donations.

Furthermore, they will assist us in keeping active, healthy, and fit, as well as socially distant.

Thank you for your generosity! I could not thank you more.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mendoza

  • Classroom Resources

    Funded Oct 1, 2019

Our classroom would like to formally thank you for your donation to our project, "Classroom Resources". Your donation has allowed our classroom to purchase several items that have already made our classroom run that much more seamless.

We have enjoyed using the pocket charts to display items from our focus wall. While another, has furthered the layout of our small groups, making resources and station information readily available for students. This has provided students the tools necessary to be independent and agents of their own learning.

We cannot thank you enough for your contribution, not only to our classroom, but to our learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mendoza

  • Increasing Access to Representational Books

    Funded Sep 4, 2019

Thank you for your wondrous donations to our project. The resources from the project have already made a huge impact, since receiving them!

The students love the books, that we were able to get thanks to your donation! Not only have the books added diversity and increased the size of our classroom library, but, I have already planned and begun using some as part of our interactive read alouds within class. I have been able to dramatically increase student interest, while also modeling meta-cognitive reading strategies.

Our classroom could not express our gratitude enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mendoza

  • Help Students Show Their Thinking With Whiteboards and Clipboards

    Funded Aug 20, 2019

Thank you tremendously for your generous donations to our classroom. Your donation has allowed us to receive class sets of white boards and clipboards that students have been eager to use. They have been given the choice of choosing their best learning seats in our classroom and for some that means getting up and/or sitting on the floor when they can. Our class has loved being able to move and work more closely in their groups to finish up their work. We are so grateful for your contribution to our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mendoza

As mentioned previously, differences are celebrated in our classroom. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and find what works best for them, in order to have success both in the classroom and beyond. This includes giving students the opportunity to have agency and recognize not only what their preferred learning style is, but also the environment that best supports them. For some, this may include sitting at a traditional desk, for others it is sitting or even laying on the floor, and others prefer having the option to get up if they feel they need to. Every student is different, and how they learn is just as unique as they are. Therefore, being able to provide students resources to work in ways that support their needs is critical not just in their learning, but also in the effort to be a more equitable educator.
