Flexible Seating for Diverse Learners

My students were so thrilled when our flexible seating packages arrived. Many of them even volunteered to give up their recess time to help me inflate all our new seating options. We came up with a rotation system and waiting list so that every student will have many opportunities to utilize the materials you so kindly helped bring to our learning environment. I have noticed that my high energy students enjoy being able to rock or bounce on the seats while they are productively doing their work. It has provided comfort to those who don't want to sit in a hard chair. It has honestly given us a more home-like environment which makes our classroom a more enjoyable place to be. How many people like to sit in an uncomfortable chair while they work? I chose these wobble chairs, seat disks, and stability balls as options for my students to be more comfortable and productive in their learning environment. Although there are opportunities for movement throughout the day, many students would benefit from chairs that allow for some type of movement all day. Students are more engaged when they are involved in decisions about their education. Deciding how they focus best and where they will be most productive will help my students to do their best. Please help support our vision for a 21st century classroom.
