All of my 7th grade students come from the foothills of Crowley's Ridge and the Delta of Arkansas. As soon-to-be teenagers, they are in the process of creating independent identities. I want them to use great literature to develop their unique voices, develop empathy, and discover the great people I know they can become. Finding the true love of books and writing in my classroom can help them weather the storm of adolescence!

About my class
