Currently, we have hangers out in the hallway which are WAY too tall for my Early Childhood Special Education Classroom (3 years - 5 years). We end up picking them up to hang their backpacks up.
Cubbies will help to have our students ready for Kindergarten so they can gain independence and learn skills that we can easily help guide and monitor.
Having the backpacks in the hallway is a struggle because the kids can't go pack their bags or unpack their bags without being out in the hallway. Some of my kids are behaviors so it risks them running into the hallway or other classrooms.
Kids are able to gain skills such as independently hanging their backpack up, putting on and off their coats, and gaining skills that will make Kindergarten a smoother transition!
We only need 10 cubbies because I have 10 kids in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. Will you help me out?
