Flexible Seating for Focus!
Funded Oct 3, 2019Thank you so very much for your generous donation this school year! We truly appreciate your gift towards our classroom! The materials your donation purchased have helped us in so many ways. My fifth grade students use them on a daily basis and these materials help them to stay focused and engaged in class during instruction. Coming to school each day with the materials that motivate and encourage students to try their best and help with reducing anxiety makes learning for them more accessible . Thank you once more.”

Flexible Seating to Help us be Focused!
Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for your generous gift to our classroom. Your charitable donation has helped make a difference in our classroom by providing alternative seating options for students who need a little enticing to help them focus. I truly appreciate your gifts. Students look forward to sitting in the Hokki Stool and are able to move their bodies without distracting others with the new bouncy bands. The hand therapy balls also have helped with reducing stress for students with anxiety. These items really do make a difference!”

Funded Sep 29, 2017We are very excited to read this next class set of books that will help encourage tolerance of other differences, kindness, and awareness of learning disabilities. Often, our class read alouds are a powerful tool for academics but also for life lessons. We will be developing vocabulary, increasing reading comprehension, and using writing skills as ell as working on being better citizens in our communities and being better friends. Thank you again for your generosity. Your gift will truly help make a difference in my students lives.”

Funded May 30, 2017"In a world where you can be anything, choose kind." I am so excited to read this class set of books with my students. With all the craziness in the world, we can choose to stop hate with kindness. What a valuable lesson to learn. Students won't only develop a love for reading, become better readers, thinkers, and writers, but they will also learn that kindness is possible and makes a difference in the world we live in. This will be an ongoing theme we revisit all year long. Thank you for your generosity, trust, and support. You are kindness in action.”

Funded Mar 8, 2017Thank you so very much for your donation towards my Crafty artists project! These products will be used for some of our writing projects, read aloud projects, and even science and math. Incorporating more art in my classroom will make learning more motivating, engaging, and fun. We will be using some of these materials right away as we write stories. The kids will be making a picture using a variety of materials to illustrate their story. having choices will be a big incentive for them. Everyone has been very excited. The gel pens, glitter glue, and buttons seem to be a big hit. Most of these kids do not have these choices at home. Thank you again for supporting what I do and making my dreams for my students a reality.”

Funded Nov 19, 2016Thank you for providing us with NGSS science curriculum to use this year with all the manipulatives needed for hands on fun and exciting learning. My students love when we pull out the big green tub filled with our science materials. Thank you also for all the Brain Break learning games and toys that help us learn when we think we are playing. Your donations truly have made a difference in how we learn this year. We have made water cycle models in 2 liter bottles, we have made terrariums that represent all 4 earth systems, and modeled the sun in comparison to the moon and Earth. We have also graphed Earth's fresh water. We are using writing, math, and reading comprehension while doing science. Thank you again for your generosity to my classroom. My next project that is due this spring is to replenish craft and art supplies in my classroom so we can do projects alongside our language arts program ( reading and writing)and bring out students' creativity, making learning engaging and motivating.”

Funded Oct 27, 2016It was like Christmas when our boxes arrived. As I unpacked the materials, students cheered, giggled, and gasped at all the science materials we get to use this year. We needed this science curriculum unit to be able to continue with our science instruction. Even though the new NGSS standards are not in mandatory implementation till 2018, our district has encouraged us to start teaching these new standards, making it difficult without materials to use. Thank you for saving me time and personal money from having to develop my own curriculum in addition to my teaching.
We just finished a lesson where students were learning about the four Earth systems: the atmosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. They will now create terrariums using the materials in the kit to represent all of these Earth systems and how they interact with each other.
Thank you for supporting education, students, and teachers. Your generous support is much appreciated and will not be forgotten.”

Flexible Seating for the 21st Century Classroom
Funded May 13, 20168/25/16
Dear Donors,
Today was the big day! Our Hooki stools arrived and we just opened the boxes this morning and there were cheers of glee! Immediately, 1 stool was put at each table in our classroom and we began to talk about how we would use these tools to help us learn, stay focused, and engaged while in class.
Students then came up with a plan for their groups on how the stools could be accessed by those who wanted to use them, since we only have 5. They decided to rotate them around the table at each transition. I am very pleased with how students are excited to get to work, be here in class, and participate because they have alternative seat options to help them do their job well.
My next project is focused on STEM activities: science, technology, engineering, and math. I want to be able to provide hands on labs and games that students may use to fine tune and develop these skills for our future thinkers and professionals. I am very excited about the possibilities these materials will bring into the classroom. Thank you for believing in me and supporting my students. You are a hero!”

Mrs. Sunseri
