Many of my students have great responsibilities at home. They care for their younger siblings and have household chores beyond the average child. They need time to just be kids and not worry about their everyday lives. Recess is a time for children to interact and connect with each other. It is key for both physical and social development. My students need a jumbo Connect Four game, giant Jenga game, a big Twister game, and a Corn Hole game to play during recess. This will provide an opportunity for them to actively engage with their peers while having fun at the same time.
