PBIS Reward Store
Funded Jun 10, 2022I can't thank you enough for the reward store resources. This year we are in the full implementation stage of our PBIS program and a large part of that is rewarding students for their positive choices. We love the program but coming by the resources hasn't been so easy. Budgets aren't endless and most of the time, when teachers need something it's an out-of-pocket expense.
My students have been thrilled with their treat box! They feel special when they get to choose a reward and are motivated to visit again. I'm also relieved to be stocked up for the year, not having to worry about replenishing my supplies. Being able to check anything off my never-ending to-do list is appreciated!
Thank you again for seeing the value in my initiatives and lending the funds to see them to fruition. I promise your selfless spirit is recognized often and will be paid forward in the lives of my students!”

Mrs. Ingram
Reuse the Resources!
Funded Feb 22, 2022Thank you so much for your your donations toward our classroom project of essential supplies. Hardware, such as staplers, paper cutters, and ink, and new, refreshing digital resources are just the things slipping through the cracks of our current budgets. It was so rejuvenating to my spirit to unbox these things and refresh my classroom during the time of year when these tools are most needed. With the TeachersPayTeachers gift card I've purchased STEM science activities, ELA reflection projects, virtual field trips, and math review resources that will be utilized for many years to come. To go on a 'shopping spree' and purchase the lessons my students need the most was truly a joy. I can't thank you enough for changing my classroom for many years to come. You are so appreciated.”

The Science of Reading
Funded May 6, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations toward our classroom project. As you all know, the current economic climate has not been friendly to public school budgets, and the availability of supplementary supplies is limited at best. Little by little I have been gathering texts from garage sales, Scholastic book points, or from what was left over from previous teachers, but despite my efforts I still did not have the means to provide myself with all the essential components I needed to complete my environmental learning library.
The new book set has completely refreshed the climate of my classroom. Not only am I excited for the new books, but engaged learning time of my kids has been maximized because they are connecting with the new learning content. It is inspiring my students to be leaders, creators, and thinkers, and explore the opportunities of the world from the comfort of their classroom in ways they never before thought possible.
Above all else, as an educator I strive to teach my students academic independence, and new materials always drive that initiative. My students and I are deeply grateful for your generosity, and it is our collective goal to take your selfless spirit and "pay it forward" as we grow together as life-long learners. Thank you again for all you do.”

Funded May 5, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations toward our classroom project. As you all know, the current economic climate has not been friendly to public school budgets, and the availability of supplementary supplies is limited at best. Having a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction reading materials in the classroom that ALL students can relate to is an absolutely essential component to foster self-awareness, global understanding, and a life-long passion for learning. Little by little I have been gathering texts from garage sales, Scholastic book points, or from what was left over from previous teachers, but despite my efforts I still was not providing my students with all the essential components they needed to be successful and understand the world beyond their rural community.

Funded Dec 1, 2021I can't thank you enough for donating to this project. Within this pandemic, I know that items such as classroom parties aren't always on the radar of donors. However, our schools have had years of budget cuts and the state of our materials are in dire need of repair and replacement. I know that other needs take precedent, but the environment we are creating for our students needs care as well. We are looking forward to piloting our new glow materials to celebrate 2-22-22! The kids will be wearing tie-dye and neon colors to school and will be engaged in activities throughout the day utilizing their new glow in the dark supplies. They'll be doing math with highlighters, writing on neon paper, reading with finger flashlights, and even completing a glow paint art project. They are so excited! Projects such as these are by no means a resolution to the problem, but they sure are a help during a time where teachers feel they have none. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

Funded Sep 25, 2021Thank you for your donation towards our new Scholastic curricular materials. The resources have been invaluable to our classroom. I began utilizing them to better transition my fourth graders into their higher-level math and writing lessons, and immediately I saw a newfound confidence in my students. Last year, my students were discouraged as they took the leap into more critical thinking and problem solving. The Common Core requirements overwhelmed them, and as hard as they prepared, they walked away feeling defeated. This year, my students are attacking their lessons with a positive attitude and are encouraged by the many new skills they are mastering. The change in the morale of my classroom in just a week is astonishing.
Like my students, I have also felt quite overwhelmed with the onset of the Common Core. In the past our school district has always been a leader in curriculum across the region. However, our district has left it up to the grade-level teams to realign the curriculum and supplement our outdated materials to fit the new national requirements. The task has been endless. Scholastic Magazine has breathed new life into what seemed to be a hopeless cause.
The resources you have given to our classroom have reached far beyond just 30 students and one teacher. Not only did you change the climate of their entire year, but you have also influenced the curricular decisions of an entire school district. Thank you again for all that you have done to support our public schools.”

A World of STEM
Funded Aug 4, 2021Thank you for your donation towards our new STEM materials. The resources have been invaluable to our school. We began utilizing kits like these to kick-off science instruction in 2020 and immediately we saw a new-found confidence in our students. The materials have refreshed their attitudes towards STEM instruction, and the kids are encouraged by the many new skills they are mastering outside the confines of a workbook.
Like my students, I have also felt quite overwhelmed with the onset of the Common Core. In the past our school district has always been a leader in our mathematics and science curricula across the region. However, our district has left it up to the grade-level teams to realign the curriculum and supplement our outdated materials to fit the new national requirements. So much of that realignment is occurring in paper lessons, but many fail to realize that the manipulative resources are out of date as well. The new STEM supplies have given our students practical learning opportunities within the implementation of the Common Core, and they are now finding additional value in their learning.
The resources you have given to our classroom have reached far beyond just 15 students and one teacher. Not only did you change the climate of their entire year, but you have also influenced the curricular atmosphere of fourth grade for years to come. Thank you again for all that you have done to support our public schools.”

Since receiving Hand2Mind, I have realigned the fourth grade math curriculum to the Common Core with Hand2Mind as my foundational resource. Having had such success with the program, many of my colleagues have investigated the program themselves. Hand2Mind has breathed new life into what seemed to be a hopeless cause.
