I provide reading and math support to ESE students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade in a Title I school where over 80% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch.
Due to their disabilities, my students have deficits in their reading and math skills which has placed them significantly behind in their grade level. Acquiring and retaining basic skills is very challenging for them. Without maximum opportunities to target and practice these skills they are falling further and further behind. I want to close this gap by providing them with meaningful experiences to learn in a creative way that would be otherwise difficult using the traditional black and white paper method.
About my class
